2.

To be able reset Alarm 68 Safe Stop it is required a wire between terminals 12 & 37.

3. Adjust the brightness of the LCP at your preference

1. Press Status + Arrow Up to increase
2. Press Status + Arrow down to decrease

4. Use [Info] key located on LCP. It supplies information about a command, parameter, or
function in any display window. [Info] key provides detailed information whenever help is
needed. Exit info mode by pressing either [Info], [Back], or [Cancel]. See example below:
5. Motor External Fan

Press [Info] key

Scroll down

6. The parameter shortcut can be carried out by holding down the [Main Menu] key for 3
seconds. The parameter shortcut allows direct access to any parameter. See example

Exercise #4
Quick Transfer of Parameter Settings between Multiple Frequency Converters
Note: Motor must be stopped before performing this operation
To store parameters in LCP follow these steps:

Start Here
Go to par. 0-50 LCP Copy

Press the [OK] key, select All to LCP

(hint press [Info] to see what other options
available)
Press the [OK] key - All parameter settings

are now being stored in the LCP indicated by

the progress bar. Press [OK] when 100% is
reached.

Now it is possible to transfer parameters to another frequency converter. Connect the LCP to
another frequency converter and copy the parameter settings to this frequency converter as
well.

Repeat step 1

Press the [OK] key, select All from LCP

Press the [OK] key - All parameter settings

stored in LCP are now being transferred to
Frequency Converter. Press [OK] when

Exercise #5
Initial/Basic Commissioning
The easiest way of carrying out the initial commissioning is by using the Quick Menu button and
follow the quick set-up procedure using LCP 102 (read table from left to right). The example
applies to open loop applications. Follow steps using motor data given:
Power = 0.18Kw, Voltage = 240VAC, Frequency = 50Hz, FLC current = 1.1A, FLS = 1400rpm

Verify the motor direction rotation

Switch to [Hand On] operation

Using up/down/left/right navigation keys dial

in speed reference of 10% of motor

synchronous speed 150RPM (for 4 pole

motor). The desired motor speed units (RPM
or HZ) can be adjusted from parameter 0002.

Check if motor rotating. If not check

Terminal 27 Digital Input setting (par. 0512). Set to No operation

Check direction of rotation if incorrect then turn off mains - wait for DC link to
discharge swap two of the motor phases over, observing usual safety procedures.

Exercise #6
Simple start/stop operation

Follow these steps:

Reinitialise drive (see Exercise #1)
Ensure Motor Data (1-2*) is programmed in
Configure Terminal 18 = Par. 5-10 [8] Start
Configure Terminal 27 = Par. 5-12 [0] No operation (Default coast inverse)
Check Terminal 37 = Safe stop (where available!)
Switch to Auto Mode and Confirm Operation
What is minimum
and maximum
motor speed ?
New application requirement is to the motor at 60Hz program drive to meet
requirements. Hint see par. 3-03
9. Adjust ramp time to 1.5 sec & ramp down tome to 20 sec. check operation
10. Start motor with terminal 18 and stop with
(i) terminal 18
(ii) terminal 27
(iii) terminal 37
11. Note the way the motor stops ?
1.
2.
3.
4.
5.
6.

Exercise #7 (continue from prev. exercise)
Using Logging Function
The VLT Automation Drive FC 302 as a build in logging function, where different information e.g.
motor speed, motor current, etc. can be shown on the LCP. Press Quick Menu Loggings
and log the motor speed in RPM.

1. Which other variables can be logged?

2. What do we need to do to log for instance Analogue input

53?

3. Run motor in Auto Mode at 30Hz then switch terminal 19 to run in reverse

(i) What Happens ?

(ii) The motor stops because reversing is blocked by default in FC302 (safety
reasons). Configure drive to go in reverse, check par. 5-11 & 4-10. Test
operation.
4. It is desired to protect motor by using a motor thermistor connected to terminal 32.
Set par. 1-90 and 1-93 accordingly and simulate the thermo sensor with the remote
box terminal 32.
5. Simulate Thermistor trip during running. Observe the value of the motor voltage at
the time of trip by using Alarm Log key
