A. Primary responsibilities:

Supervising the creative and quality of Program Promos / Channel Promos and other packaging
elements.
Supervising the creative and quality of client jingles / ads / spots / promos, etc. as well as preemptive jingles / ads.
Interfacing with Sales and Marketing everyday to receive and approve creative / client briefs for ads
or promotions / contests, etc. and ensure execution of all thats discussed.
Supervising the creative and quality of all event promotions / in-house brand promotions / on air

In this connection it must be remembered that just like, an actor is said to be only as good as his last
film, a journalist is only as good as his last story, similarly, a PH is only as good as his last creative
piece.
Guide Creative Directors and Executive Producers in ideation and management of content in
programming strategy
Develop a strategic time table, based on research and viewership patterns in collaboration with the
sales and marketing terms.
Drive the decisions for content acquisition and development based on parameters such as profit
potential, cost, mass audience / target viewer appeal and quality of content.
Finalize the proposals received from production houses on specified parameters such as alignment with
programming strategy, cost and production house credentials.
Direct negotiations with representatives from production houses and vendors to ensure that production
costs are minimized.
Oversee signing of agreements with production houses in collaboration with the Legal and Finance
departments.
Direct preparation of fixed point charts for specified time periods detailing daily schedule of shows.
Supervise quality / TRPs of current programs on a continuous basis and recommend any
additions,
deletions, modifications if required.
Direct resource allocation for existing and new programs so as to ensure optimum utilization of
resources.
Ratify production budgets developed by the Finance department and Executive Producers for all in
house and outsourced programs and ensure effective control over production costs for each production
schedule.
Ensure development of detailed project plans for each in-house programme in collaboration with the
executive Producer of the programme and the Technical & Engineering Department.
Ensure that all required licenses, permissions and approvals are obtained from the concerned
authorities for all production activities.
Oversee the quality of all pre production and post production activities and ensure adherence to
predefined timelines.
Provide inputs on manpower requirements for the achievement of department objectives and ensure
that the department is adequately staffed.
Liaise with the HR team to build internal capability and expertise through training and mentoring
initiatives, succession planning and job rotation.
