Most of the images are captured in the early morning and late afternoon light.
The first and last exposures of the day are between 15 and 30 second which
necessitates the use a lightweight tripod. Occasionally we will use selective
focusing, but the goal for most of the images is to have the entire image in focus.
The sharpest images with the least lens diffraction are captured between F/11 and
F/16. My "Go To" camera and lens while teaching is the Canon 5D Mark II and
although I carry several lenses I hardly take the (EF 24-105mm F/4L IS USM) off
the camera. Not only is it versatile for the focal lengths that are shot, it is sharp as a
tack. In low light situations we shoot at high ISO's but the majority of the images
are captured between 200 to 400 ISO to limit noise.

Using the Lightroom Black and White Preset Red High-Contrast Filter and then
adding a vignette turned this image into a great black a white with the look of a soft
infrared image.
