Internal: colleagues within UKSRO, student ambassadors, Students Union, Colleges, Conference Centre, Security, Health & Safety
office, sports centre staff
External: students attending the summer school, their parents and school/college teachers, coach companies, train station staff,
external businesses such as a bowling alley
Major Duties:
The Night Supervisor is the first point of contact during the evening and overnight, in the absence of the relevant Outreach Officer.
The post-holder will ensure that all health and safety regulations are adhered to and will be responsible for the planning and
coordination of all evening activities.
Principal duties:
To be responsible for the health, safety and well-being of all summer school students attending the residential, during the
programme of evening activities and overnight, including any students with disabilities or additional support needs
Supervise and chaperone summer school students during the evening activities (both on and off campus) and ensure all
return safely to the accommodation blocks at the end of the activities.
Provide some day time support to the Outreach Officer on the first and final days of the residential.
Ensure that students attending the residential and Ambassadors follow the relevant Code of Conduct by encouraging
appropriate and responsible behaviour.
Take appropriate action to deal with any unreasonable behaviour, including reporting back to and/or handing over to the
Outreach Officer.
To contact participants prior to the Summer Schools in order to confirm details and answer any questions they may have,.
Monitor the summer school students to ensure they have settled in and are receiving all the support they need over the
course of the week.
Be on duty overnight, in which you will be required to stay on campus and be the first port of call for any issue during that
time
Have an excellent understanding of UKSRO Child Protection policies and procedures ensuring these are adhered to at all
times and reporting any issues that may arise to the UKSRO Child Protection Officer.
Support, advise and assist the Student Ambassadors in relation to their evening and night time responsibilities and duties
Participate in all relevant training for Night supervisors and assist the Outreach Officer with the delivery of student
ambassador training prior to the start of the summer school
Contribute to the evaluation of the summer schools by providing feedback as requested.
Any other duties to support the planning and delivery of Summer Schools, as requested by the Outreach Officer.
