Competitive Advantage: Youth Action Network is amongst very
few organizations within its line of work that has a film Production department. It clearly gives an edge to the organization, with projecting, promoting, documenting and creating awareness campaigns around the amazing support provided to their partners and most of all transparency for funder and Government. It is important to mention the embankment of producing documentaries on subject matters that are pertinent currently and on going social issues makes Youth Action Network a very dynamic and visionary entity for the future. Department Plan /Mission Statement: Film Production Department will bring a face and voice ( social media, Website and all other communication platform) for our line of work, which is otherwise is just limited to words and long documents.
Communication for Development or C FOR D: This is a
term I learned working with UNICEF on an educational project, they had implemented across Pakistan and Bangladesh. What it means is to simply visually document the nature of work, its transparent process and results through people that are benefiting from it. Rather than a long document that does not connect with reality and individuals.
Support strategy: Producing sound short films (Video and
animation) and providing continuous production for in-house departments for example Propeller groups and brand video, Rukus promotion and live streaming event will prove we stand out as a vibrant registered charity that is synchronized with the new demands of the social media and projecting it on our new and updated website.
Keeping Production Costs Minimal: Production
department is headed to make films at a bare minimum costs. Mohammad Anwerzada, Head of the department, brings along with years of qualified film experience and his personal equipment of production. This includes Cameras, lights, prime quality lenses and most of all a resources to bring the operating cost to a nothing for the infant department.
Sustainability: In order for Production department to
become a force to reckon with and its expansion, being self sufficient in terms of generating funds for its films and other ventures is vital. Plan in this year is to produce two documentaries feature length with crowd funding.
Community Assistance programs: Production department
will make the community vocal as well by educating Youth in the GTA with professional courses in basic film production and editing. This project will obtain its funding and look to generate a better future to young leaders and a more informed community.
