In gratitude to God our Father,

Jesus His Son and our Lady...
… for sending us Marge Zilinsky, a faithful and dedicated servant to our parish over
the years. Her kindness, compassion and love in serving our parishioners created a
sense of welcome and warmth in our rectory office. The commitment of service to
our Religious Education formation families as secretary and endless hours to our
community as parish secretary. Marge was always so kind and helpful when some-
one called our office. We want to thank Frank, Marge’s husband, for sharing her
with us to become a family member and part of the staff team. She has always
been there to help parish organizations in their work, to be of assistance to the par-
ish staff, the clergy and a welcome sight to the stranger who comes to our
doors. The staff, parish organizations and faith community will miss her pres-
ence. The fruits of Marge’s good work will remain with all of us as an example to
serve our brothers and sisters in Christ. We wish Marge and Frank well as they
now live in Huntley, Illinois, their new home and parish, St. Patrick. Thank you
Frank for your commitment to the Knights and the parish over these years. Christ
the King family prays that God blesses you with good health, happiness and
peace. You will be in our thoughts and prayers, Marge and Frank!
We will miss you!

Jesus, may all that is you flow into me.

May your Body and Blood be my food and drink.
May your passion and death be my strength and life.
Jesus, with you by my side enough has been given.
May the shelter I seek be the shadow of your cross.
Let me not run from the love which you offer,
but hold me safe from the forces of evil.
On each of my dyings shed your light and your love.
Keep calling to me until that day comes,
when, with your saints, I may praise you forever.
Amen.

Patroness of the Year of the Eucharist

Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament
Blessed are you, Mary,
exalted Daughter of Sion!
You are highly favored and full of grace,
for the Spirit of God descended upon you.

We magnify the Lord

and rejoice with you
for the gift of the Word made flesh,
our bread of life and cup of joy.

Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament,

our model of prayer,
pray for us that we may become what we receive,
the body of Christ your son. Amen

Angels Are Needed

On the weekend of April 24 and 25 we will have Debbie Barnes from Women’s Choice Services speak at each of the Masses explain-
ing and asking for women to become, “Angels”. The Angel training will be held here at Christ the king on Thursday, May 6 at 1:00
p.m. or Tuesday, May 11th at 7:00 p.m. Angels are need because very often when a pregnant girl leaves the Woman’s Choice Ser-
vices, she feels alone, abandoned, and scared. Her parents and /or father of the baby have deserted her. If she needs emotional,
spiritual, and material support, she is referred to a Project Gabriel Parish. The “trained” Angel is a friend, whose job it is to walk
alongside the mother to accompany her, pray for and with her, and encourages her on her journey. This may mean providing rides to
the doctor, referring her to needed agencies for financial assistance, soliciting for the baby items she may need, or just praying with
and for her. The role of the Angel should be perceived as a great opportunity to train laity in evangelization and a missionary re-
sponse to our neighbors in need. The role of the church community is to support the mother and baby in love, prayer and material
needs and to pray for and assist the Angel and the Gabriel Project Team in their specific ministry to the mother and baby. For more
information you can contact Eileen Maggiore at 630.396.6076 or Debbie Barnes at 630.261.9221.

We celebrate the Paschal mystery, reminded that for

every rising, there must be dying. This can help us rejoice
and we are found worthy to suffer in Christ's name. We
also are reminded that, through the Holy Spirit, Jesus is
always with us, offering us strength in leading us to an
ever greater fullness of life. Stewardship, it's not giving
from our surplus, but giving as the right thing to do.

Ah, Easter.

It's the greatest day in the Church calendar, celebrating the Lord's resurrection and our redemption. It inspires
hope at the perfect time of the year, especially this year.

Spring songbirds.
Buds on the bushes and trees.
Optimism about both the Cubs and the White Sox.
Hope for the revival of our economy and more hiring in the months ahead.
Let the bells ring out!

Springtime and The Resurrection lift us all in our feeling of gratitude to the Lord for all the blessings we have re-
ceived, and the desire to share a portion of those blessings in support of the diocese, the parish, and the ministries.
What better time for discipleship to grow than Spring?

"So the two disciples set out at once and returned to Jerusalem, where they found gathered together the eleven
and those with them who were saying, "The Lord has truly been raised and has appeared to Simon?
"Then the two recounted what had taken place on the way and how he was made known to them in the breaking of
the bread.
"While they were still speaking about this, he stood in their midst and said to them, 'Peace be with you.'"
