RESUMEN
ABSTRACT
The present work of investigation talks about the design of a basic model to be
applied to the three-phase separator and in combination with other devices of
field (equipment and instruments) they will carry out a control adapted within the
most acceptable parameters in the process of treatment of crude production of
originating of wells until the Central station of Bitter Lake of Petroproduccin.
The chapter 3, talks about the description of the different types and systems of
separation from crude, as well as of the main components for its operation.
In chapter 4 reference to the mechanisms that are used in the separation and to
the factors becomes that as: affect the efficiency of the separation speed of the
gas, pressure, temperature, density and viscosity.
The chapters 6, 7 and 8, contain the main part of this work of investigation, in
them it concentrates the description and identification of the instruments that will
take part in the functionality of the separation equipment, taking as it bases the
existing norms on the country and to international level, in addition describe the
procedures for adjustment of the instruments in field and thus to obtain the
measurements nearest the real thing in such a way that it allows to select to
these equipment and instruments us.

2.4.2 Compresores.

Principle of Operation
System
The Model 175 liquid level system consists of the following individual products: Model 175 Instrument, a
customer-specified AMI CAPSEN Capacitance Sensor with special NPT fitting, and optional Remote Kit.
The Model 175 instrument is comprised of the electronic assembly (puck), an explosion-proof NEMA
4X enclosure with installed I/O interface board, and a wiring nipple. The enclosure provides two
additional NPT conduit openings for external wiring. The windowed cover allows viewing of process
variables, and a magnet can be used to set-up and calibrate the instrument without removing the cover.
The Model 175 is available for remote-mounting a maximum of 10 feet from the probe (see Figure). This
arrangement incorporates an Interconnection Housing mounted at the top of the sensor, hardware for
remote-mounting the instrument, and 10 ft. of coaxial cable for connecting the sensor to the instrument.

The probe/sensor is a concentric-tube assembly designed to mate to the Model 175, either directly or at
the remote Interconnection Housing (up to 10-feet away). The process fluid fills the region between the
sensor tubes, the capacitance of the probe varying with the level of the fluid. The Model 175 transmitter
responds to this change, compares it to the calibrated values, calculates the level of the media, and
transmits it to the display and 4-20 mA current loop (for conductive-media applications, the inner
conductor is insulated).
The probe measurement length (operating length) is usually referred to as the Active Length while the
Overall Length is measured tip-to-tip.

of Ownership
A single silicon crystal etched to exacting standards is at the core of Barton's latest generation of
electronic transmitters. This micro capacitance sensor negates the effects of hysteresis and long
term fatigue. Approved by various international regulatory agencies, the FCX AII and AIIe Series
transmitters are intrinsically safe and explosion proof. From sealed sensing systems to high powered
RTUs for every application from natural gas to cryogenic liquids - the FCX measures, displays,
alarms and outputs level, pressure and/or flow. Whether the requirement demands standard or
high performance accuracy, the FCX provides years of trouble free service resulting in the ultimate
control of both the process and long term maintenance costs.
Ideal for:
Oil/Gas
Power
Chemical
Water/Waste Water
General Industrial
Food/Beverage
Fieldbus Compatible
The FCX AII series transmitter is well
prepared to meet the requirements
of the digital age. As option to the
standard HART and Fuji compliant
electronics, the AII can be supplied
with digital electronics to support
both IEC Foundation Fieldbus and
Profibus specifications.
Existing AII transmitters in the field
can be upgraded at an affordable
cost through a simple electronics
replacement. With appropriate
electronics installed, Fieldbus or
Profibus protocols are switch selectable.

Enhanced Electronics
Taking advantage of the latest technology in microelectronic
design and manufacturing, custom ASICs convert the
capacitance changes of the sensor to a digital output.
This new generation integrated circuit combines both
digital and analog circuitry and was specifically designed
to provide stable and accurate conversions to improve
long term stability.
Multiple Protocols
Both the AII and AIIe are
intelligent transmitters
communicating in
both HART (Highway
Addressable Remote
Transceiver) and Fuji protocols.
Full FSK communication is
facilitated via either a universal
275 or Fuji HHT handheld.
A simple electronics upgrade in the field
converts the standard AII output to
be compatible with both IEC Foundation
Fieldbus and Profibus specifications.
Fully Interchangeable
The transmitter electronics
unit is fully interchangeable
with any AII or AIIe series
cell, irrespective of cell
function or range.
Configuration data is stored
on separate EEPROMS,
one in the sensor and the
other in the transmitter
electronics.

Note: Thermowells for temperature instruments are recommended for all process systems where pressure, velocity, or
viscous, abrasive and corrosive materials are present individually
or in combination. A properly selected thermowell protects the
temperature instrument from possible damage resulting from
these process variables. Furthermore, a thermowell permits
removal of the temperature instrument for replacement, repair or
testing without effecting the process media or the system.

to 48 inches in diameter as a complete assembly. This sizing
flexibility, plus the availability of special materials (duplex
stainless steel and hastelloy) offers a new solution to specialty
fluid metering requirements.
Measurement Principles
Differential Pressure
When a cross sectional area of a closed conduit (or pipe) is
reduced by a diametric change or by the use of a differential
producer element, the velocity of fluids passing through the
conduit are increased across the boundary change area (continuity
equation). Pressure decreases (Bernoulli equation), and a
differential pressure is generated across the reduction or
producer. (A1-A2 in Fig. 1)

NuFlo
Liquid Turbine
Flow Meters
Accurate Flow Measurement
NuFlo developed its first flow meter for oilfield applications in 1957. The meter incorporated a tungsten-carbide
shaft and bearing to withstand the rugged conditions of the oilfield environment. Over the years, this flow meter has built
an unsurpassed reputation for withstanding severe punishment while maintaining operational and measurement integrity.
NuFlo turbine flow meters indicate flow rate and measure total throughput of a liquid line. As liquid flows through the
meter and over the rotor, the rotor turns at a speed that is directly proportional to the flow rate. A magnetic pickup senses
the rotor blades as they pass and generates an electrical (sine wave) signal. These electrical pulses are then transmitted
to the flow measurement readout equipment.

Grooved Connections
Flow meters with 1502 end connections are commonly used in highpressure oilwell service applications. Meter sizes 1, 11/2 and 2 have
2 union end connections, and 3 meters have 3 union end
connections. All 1502 union end meters have two pickup adapters.
Flanged Connections
Turbine flow meters with flanged end connections are available in both
raised-face (RF) models and ring-type joint (RTJ) models. Flanged
materials can be carbon steel or stainless steel. All flanged NuFlo
meters are equipped with slip-on flanges, which are then welded to the
outside of the meter rather than being welded to the end of the meter
body. Thus, the flange never comes into contact with the fluid being
measured.

Watercut
Monitor
The NuFlo Watercut Monitor is a solid state electronic
instrument that determines the percent watercut in an oil
emulsion without requiring the physical separation of the
fluids. The capacitance probe technique employed by the
Watercut Monitor allows the emulsion stream to be
continuously surveyed. The frequency generated by the
capacitance probe oscillator is determined by the watercut of
the emulsion stream in the probe. The Watercut Monitor
compensates for the non-linear relationship between
frequency and watercut by strictly digital techniques. The
result is a 4-20mA output signal which varies linearly with
watercut. The 4-20mA output of the Watercut Monitor may be
a completely floating signal because of the use of opto-isolation
circuitry. This mode of operation requires the optional isolating
power supply board or the use of two external power supplies.
The Watercut Monitor may be operated with a single external
power supply if a floating output signal is not required.

1 Average temperature effect is defined as the (maximum - minimum) divided by the operating temperature range, expressed in terms of % of span.
2 The common mode range defines the common mode voltage of the external signal over which the common mode rejection ratio applies. The 6V specification allows
for a 20 mA current loop signal into 300 of impedance external to the 1131 (in addition to the voltage dropped by the 1131 input).
