INDUSTRIAL TRAINING
1) CYIENT limited
During this six weeks training program, I received hands on knowledge on how the following
Analysis is being done and their importance:
(June 2014 July 2014)
Propulsion system analysis.
Modular performance analysis of a high thrust class turbofan engine.
Engine fault analysis and its affect on different parameters.
Developing Macro (Visual Basic code)
2) TATA Advanced Systems limited
This two weeks long learning experience at the Assembly section helped me gain an in-depth
understanding of
(May 2014)
Making of right hand side panel of S-92 Helicopter.
Various types of defects found in assembling process.
Various management systems.
Different phases of assembling the fuselage of S-92 Helicopter.
3) Taneja Aerospace and Aviation Limited (TAAL)
(January 2013)
A private sector company
How the company manufactures small parts of an aircraft.
The maintenance work they do for various types of aircrafts.

PROJECTS UNDERTAKEN

Visual Basic code to automate different types of Performance analysis. (At CYIENT Ltd.)
Automated the analysis process of the Engine fault analysis of a high thrust class Turbofan Engine.
By Developing Macro in Microsoft Excel.
Developed Macro can segregate the data of Takeoff and Cruise for the modular analysis
of a Turbofan engine.
Visual Basic code to automate the fault analysis of an High Thrust class Turbofan Engine
Developed Macro can segregate the data of faults in the Engine and can plot all the necessary
graphs and pivot tables.
(At CYIENT Ltd.)
Energy Management in a plant.
In this project the total energy consumed in a plant has been recorded. The wastage of energy in
different sections has been found. And the process to reduce the energy consumption also been
suggested.(At TATA Advanced Systems Ltd)
Designed flange for Aero-Engine casing with leak proof and having optimal weight.
(Submitted to Infotech Enterprises )
Designed flange for Aero engine casing which is leak proof. It has the minimum part count and
weight. The design has been done without considering the gasket. And the design also met the
requirements of CYIENT Ltd.
Modelled and Analyzed turbine blade of a gas turbine engine.
(Using Msc. NASTRAN & PATRAN, CATIA v5)
Turbine blade has been modeled using CATIA V5 and the analyzed different types of stresses acting
on it with the help of Msc. NASTRAN & Msc. PATRAN.
(Submitted to CADD Centre, Kukatpally as Major Project)
Modular Performance Analysis of a high thrust class Turbofan engine.
The losses in efficiency of different modules like compressors, turbine, and combustion chamber of a
turbofan engine have been calculated. And also the methods to improve the efficiency of the engine
have been found. Typical possible problems in various modules of the engine also described.
(At CYIENT Ltd.)
Modelled Detail components of Turbofan Engine.
The modelling has been done using CATIA V5. The modelled parts of Turbofan Engine includes
Compressor
Turbine
Engine Casing
Combustion Chamber
Nozzle
Fan
Fault analysis of a High Thrust class Turbofan engine.
By this analysis we can
1- Prevent the engine or part from further deterioration
2- help the manufacturer to know the service life of the engine or its part
3- also find out whether the engine should go under maintenance or not
By this manufacturer can make suitable changes to increase the service life of an engine
(At CYIENT Ltd.)
Modelled and Analyzed Axial Compressor of a gas turbine engine.
(Using ANSYS 14.5, CATIA v5)
Compressor has been modeled using CATIA V5 and the analyzed different types of stresses acting
on it with the help of ANSYS 14.5.
(Submitted to CADD Centre, Kukatpally)
