PERSONAL
STATEMENT

I have gained a lot of experience working as part of a team: academically and

professionally, as well as working independently, as shown by my self studying
of Further Maths.
I enjoy problem solving in any field and particularly love programming; I have
experience programming in Pascal, JavaScript, Java, Python, ARM Assembly
and using Visual Basic with database manipulation. I am most experienced
using Java and will be learning C next semester.
I am part of the Hackasoton Society, who organise many hackathons, and the
Cyber Security Society as well as to increase my depth of knowledge in my
field and improve on my Software Engineering skills.
In my spare time I enjoy weightlifting and playing American Football for my
university, also programming personal projects in Java. I also hold a 1st Dan
black belt in Karate.

I have learnt many skills and have improved a lot since working at Mans
Chinese. I have worked as part of a team as well as independently. Time
keeping and organization was very important. I learnt many different tasks
as I worked in many different positions all around the team and always tried
to complete my tasks to the best of my ability.

I rose to a more senior position over time and became one of the best and
most reliable workers, what I liked about this was the chance to learn the
more advanced tasks. I also helped with the teaching of new staff. This has
given me strong team work skills as well as being focused when there was a
large workload. It has also proved my time management and reliability.

While working at ATC Lasham I spent each day working with a different
department and saw how each department worked together as a whole
unit, yet had their own individual tasks. I enjoyed being part of a team and

During my work at Holland and Barrett I learnt many skills as well as

witnessing how the shop was run and maintained. I was taught about the
different products they stocked and how to advise customers on finding the
correct product. I enjoyed the friendly attitude with staff and customers in
the work environment. I spent almost all of my time working in the shop
front, this gave me an opportunity to interact with the customers.

I started this job so I could work from a young age and have my own income
to save. I learnt to work independently and be extremely committed to my
job as I would have to deliver in all weather conditions. This showed my
high motivation and persistence as well as time management.
