You don’t have to fly all the way to Taiwan to enjoy authentic Taiwanese delicacies.
Kua Kee Eng knows exactly where to have a hearty meal of this oriental cuisine in Kuala Lumpur.
Let’s Have A
Taiwanese Feast!
I f your stomach growls by just watching the mouth-watering authentic Taiwanese
dishes on your television screen, then, Parenthood has found you an ideal place to
savour them! Located at Bandar Manjalara, Kepong, D’licious or better known as Bie
Bu Tong (means ‘out of the ordinary’ in Mandarin) serves authentic Taiwanese dishes,
ranging from hot pots, to noodles and rice, as well as popular Taiwanese snacks and
beverages. Plus, the soft colour shades and lighting, combined with decorations of
little red lanterns and Chinese calligraphy, made the ambience even more comfortable
and relaxing for their guests. Above all these, the prices are reasonable too!
Bie Bu Tong offers Mini Hot Pot (RM 13.90) in a variety of styles —Taiwanese, Korean,
Thai, Japanese, Szechuan and Vegetarian. The concoction of fresh seafood, with a
mixture of cabbage, mushrooms, crab sticks, meatballs, served with boiling soup in a
mini hot pot, certainly looks and smells irresistible.

Noodle lovers can try the Braised Beef Noodle (RM8.90) or the Mongolian Mutton
Noodle — a new dish making its way to the menu — served with a special blend of
chili sauce. So what makes the Braised Beef Noodle at Bie Bu Tong any different from
Assorted Juices the normal beef noodle from other restaurants? “We only use beef shank (cut of meat
from the leg of cattle) in our Braised Beef Noodle because of its quality texture, and
we braise it for four hours in advance, to ensure its tenderness and that the marinated
flavour is absorbed thoroughly into the beef, before serving it with noodles,” answered
Mr. Chong, the owner cum chef of Bie Bu Tong.
If you prefer to have some side dishes to go with your main course, or if you just want
to have something light, Bie Bu Tong has got some mouth-watering snacks for you.
Golden Treasures Tau Foo (RM6.90) is bean curd blend with special seasoning and
Healthy Juice fried till golden brown, served with a sour and spicy dip. Bie Bu Tong also offers
home-made dumplings in a variety of styles and fillings, such as the popular Dragon
Hand Dumpling (RM8.90) served with a special spicy dip made of chili, chili oil,
vinegar, garlic and fried onion, Shandong Meat Dumpling (RM6.90) and Pan-fried
Meat Dumpling (RM6.90) served with sliced ginger sauce. Salad Prawn (RM8.90)
made of fresh prawns and water chestnut, wrapped like a dumpling and deep fried,
and served with a special strawberry flavoured dip. Beside dumplings, you can also
try the famous home-made Taiwanese Sausage (RM 9.90) served with thin slices of
garlic that enhance its taste.

special drinks that makes a good combination with the
dishes. I would strongly recommend the Cold Drip Iced
Coffee (RM5.90), the signature drink of Bie Bu Tong .
Exquisite, is how I would describe its taste. What makes
the Cold Drip Iced Coffee different from normal coffee is
that, it doesn’t need to be brewed in hot water. All it needs
is just cold water seeping through the ‘drip maker’. “We
had had the ‘drip maker’ ordered from Japan and have
it shipped to Malaysia in order to make the Cold Drip
Iced Coffee, a drink which is popular in Taiwan,” said
Mr. Chong.
