February 26, 2016

Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,
It was a blessing for me to celebrate Masses last weekend with you at St. Michael Parish
in Girard and St. Joseph Parish in Arma. Thank you for your very warm welcome.
You are both vibrant parish families!
After the 10:00 Mass last Sunday, I met with key parish leaders from both parishes as
we move forward in Fr. Maxs absence. I wanted to write this brief note to you to keep
everyone updated. Good and accurate information is much more beneficial than
rumors and speculation. Please continue to remember Fr. Biltz in your prayers. He is
undergoing a complete assessment and the outcome of these medical tests will help to
know the next steps of action.
During his absence, the parish leaders and I reviewed important parish dates that are
coming up in the next several weeks, including Holy Week, First Communion and
Confirmation. The weekend Mass schedules will remain the same. Different priests
will be coming to celebrate these Masses during this period of time. We will continue
the Stations of the Cross during Lent. We are also finalizing schedules for parish
penance services and times for our PSR students to receive the Sacrament of
Reconciliation and to make visits to our homebound parishioners.

The parish and finance councils of both parishes are continuing to function as normal.
During last Sundays meeting, we reviewed how parish bills will be paid and office
correspondence will be addressed. I am most grateful to the parish staff and the parish
and finance council members, the PSR teachers and catechists. This is a team effort.

THANK YOU!
Dear St. Michaels parishioners,
I wanted to extend a big thank you to the parish for your
support of the medical mission trip to the Philippines that I
have the opportunity to be a part of. Father Roger and I leave
soon for the Philippines, and will be gone from March 4-13.
Please keep us in your prayers. I really appreciate all of you
joining in the mission through financial contributions, donated
supplies, and prayers. Every act of kindness and generosity
truly reflects the love of Christ. Without your help, it would
not be possible for us to extend this same love to the people of
the Philippines. So once again, thank you for the support. I will
be sure to come back and share my experience with you all, so
you see what a difference you helped make.
Thanks and God Bless,
Madison Smith
