Do you really know who is knocking at your door?
While they may seem polite, cheerful, and well-mannered, the real truth about
Jehovahs Witnesses and their beliefs may shock you. Consider the following:

PEDOPHILIA

A child sex assault victim must produce a witness to their attack

before their case is heard by elders.1

Confessed pedophiles may be put in positions of authority over
others, including children. They are also required to participate
in door-to-door preaching.1
Only in rare and extreme cases are parents warned that a
pedophile is in their congregation, even if that person has
authority over them and their children.1

RAPE

Jehovahs

Witnesses have blamed women for raising rapists,

stating that they have come short in teaching their sons
respect for womankind.2 Women have also been told to treat a
rapist respectfully and understandingly.3
A woman is required to scream and fight during an attack, and if
not, she would be viewed as consenting to the violation and
may face disfellowshipping [excommunication] and subsequent
shunning.4
Elders are told to use discernment if a woman claims to have
been raped, taking into account her mental disposition, the
circumstances leading up to the incident, and any delay in
reporting.5 She may then be disfellowshipped and shunned
based on their discernment of her claim.

SHUNNING

Jehovahs

Witnesses are told not to contact or communicate

with a disfellowshipped [excommunicated] family member, not
even through e-mail.6
Even young ones may be shunned if they leave the religion.7

Those

who have left the religion have been referred to as

mentally diseased.8

While Jehovahs Witnesses

often claim to be a religion based
on love of family and love of
neighbor, because of their belief
that an accused or even confessed
child molester has the right to
confidentiality, they put children
at risk by not alerting authorities
in these cases.
Women are encouraged to
stay with abusive men in the hopes
of converting them, with little to
no mention of the effects of that
abuse on them or their children.
Jehovahs Witnesses do not
allow blood transfusions even in
emergency situations and even for
their children, and at one time
also did not allow organ
transplants, calling these a form
of cannibalism.
H i gh e r ed u ca t i on a n d
independent research is strongly
discouraged among members.
Additionally, the leaders of the
religion ask those in even the
poorest areas of the world to
donate funds, while themselves
earning billions of dollars in real
estate transactions alone. The
religion practices no official
charitable works despite their
profits.
