I’m not going to say much about one of the world’s wildest bands. The
Arrrghs!!! are a garage-punk-making machine and their front man,
Juanito Wau , is the most indomitable person you can find on any
stage. One of the bands that define my life. Essential, without a doubt.
The fact that Guille Milkyway is a genius is something that we’ve been
told for a long time and something that some of us took too long to
realize. Frenetic pop from Shibuya, whiny, girly and splendorous. It goes
from a modest listen-through, to infinite admiration. Or someone please
explain to me who could do something like, “El momento más feliz,”
without being a sublime composer?
The Clash, divertido y derecho. Sin ironías. Y es que no, no pasará el
gran circo liberal...
Just as we said regarding Milky Wimpshake, this too is about love and
politics. It’s understood punk, with an eye on Billy Bragg and another
on The Clash. Fun and firm. Without sarcasm
I chose Los Muebles’ album just as I could have chose one by TCR
(“Ardiendo en un infierno punk-pop” could be my favorite song of the
decade) or by Bananas (Los Muebles’ sister band). The menu is made-
up of a lo-fi sound, twisted drum rhythms, lyrics with Spanbauer and
an arrogant version of Barry and Greenwich’s “Heaven Only Knows.”
They’re cool.
Fernando Alfaro, the mind behind Chucho, has always been quite
an irregular guy (listen to his previous discography). But he decided
to give it his all in an autobiographical album, released in three parts
made up of five songs each. We can perceive the vertigo of being
a father and hell, something as simple as being a person. There’s
something mystical in the way these diaries are so addictive.

The most schizophrenic album in the world. Ten songs in ten minutes,

If Josele showed us that there was life after Los Enemigos, Lapido is
doing the same thing after being the main song writer for 091. Old

too much complication. After finally finding his voice, Lapido is here to
stay.

The Influence of
Material Objects
Cuando se leen los
relatos de Pablo, llama
la atención la gran
importancia que tienen
los objetos materiales. Algo
que llama la atención, ya
que muchos (por no decir
la mayoría) de los escritores
dedican sus textos a los grandes
temas universales. Ya sabéis: el
amor, la muerte, etc. ¿Por qué
esta fijación? Pablo se explica: “Me
apasiona lo cerca que vivimos de
objetos aparentemente inservibles
pero que nos acompañan, dan
sentido a nuestras casas, animan
nuestro día a día. En esa conexión me
parece fascinante la idea de poder
crear historias con ellos. Además, muchos
objetos guardan similitud con nuestra
propia realidad”.
He doesn’t just live off of writing microstories. Pablo has other projects,
such as two novels in mind. According to him, “They keep asking to be
written.” That said, his microstories will continue to be present in his life.
Pablo is very optimistic about the future of this genre. This is his vision: “I
think it will be a successful genre, it will reach its necessary recognition and
publishers will bet on the writers of these texts. We live in the perfect society
to squeeze in these type of short stories.” Writers, literature experts, readers in
the metro with little time and even dinosaurs will agree with this prediction.
