I believe that if conservatives can move quickly, we still have a golden opportunity to
unseat U.S. Senator Bill Nelson of FL this fall, -- an opportunity that will not be available
again until 2012. If we can immediately locate a credible candidate to oppose Nelson,
this liberal "Casper Milquetoast" won't be able feign centrist statesmanship up
till election time, only to continue obstructing the administration's agenda afterwards.
I know it looks as if we're faced with diminished prospects at this point, but let me bullet-point a
fallback approach that appears to be gaining traction and momentum. Before I show my hand, I
want to warn you that because career politician approval polls are hitting new lows this will
require we all think "outside the box." But imagine for a moment that you could field an expert
on just about every conceivable policy issue (i.e. national security, fiscal, social, etc.), who would
also be eminently trusted by the 60-70% of the public.
If you're still with me, what if this champion of conservative causes could also single-
handedly forge more brilliant legislation than all of his counterparts as a junior Senator? Hey, as
long as we're dreaming, what if this individual was just the first of several extraordinary people
that would win-back 10% of the Senate seats by '08, and go on to save the Republic's two-part
system from imploding? Would you be interested? I'm sure at this point you've already hailed
the nearest bartender with instructions "I'll have whatever he's drinking" but wait there's more...
What if we could turn back the hands of time to December 2004, a time when traditional value
voters were dancing in the streets after having just given the President a conservative mandate of
60-million popular votes and having added to conservative majorities in both houses on
Congress? And what if you still believed that as a nation, America was within reach of the
'tipping-point" that would set in motion a conservative renaissance that would responsibly grow
for the foreseeable future based on integrity, limited government, fiscal restraint, compassionate
social reform, and a strong national defense? Ladies and gentlemen we're neither dreaming nor
engaging in naive conjecture. And the best part is that this can all be accomplished in short order
-- with your participation.
For more context on these lofty aspirations you are invited to either visit WBO for additional
insight, or just consider the following milestones that need to be achieved for us to once
again become the "City upon a hill" that our forefathers envisioned.
By now you're chewing your nails, knocking-down all the intellectual arguments circling in your
head for why independent candidates will never succeed: no party machine, a limited campaign war-
chest, the uphill battle that will have to be fought to gain conservative consensus. Then you cry eureka,
I've got it -- this can be done!
You pick-up a phone and get your staff activated to invite other conservative leaders to discuss
the brilliant idea you've just hatched...and as fate would have it your colleagues love the idea
because they've already pictured the same concept after reading my e-mail.
C'mon now, it could happen. Just for grins, let me know you're interested in exploring this
further by requesting more details. Still need some convincing? Just consider what the world's
last best hope is facing today.
o Our once providential Judeo-Christian ethic has been replaced by a secular, no-rules,
entertainment mind-set that actively merchandizes our kids.
o The free-love society that’s aborted an entire generation of taxpayers now faces
an unfunded U.S. national debt of $45 trillion dollars.
o Interest payment on the debt alone is the country's third largest budget item, which will
soon crowd-out all social spending.
o Foreigners are losing interest in feeding our consumption and funding our debt, which
is collapsing the dollar's value.
o A dollar collapse will raise interest rates, pop the inflated equities and housing markets,
and lead to recession.
o In the midst of this mess, we're effectively surrounded by enemies that require we fight
or be destroyed.
In closing, from a spiritual perspective, scholars of eschatology agree, there is little mention of
America in end-time prophecy. Read what you will into this, but as for me, I believe the choice
is left to us, and that America's best days lay ahead. Our destiny, yet unwritten, is merely poised
over a half-filled page while the Sovereign's quill is replenished with His-story's ink.
Will the American ideal be reduced to a mythical story, just a byword throughout the world,
or will it become the moniker of a nation who's trust in God allowed them to wear the mantle of
leadership just long enough for the King's return?
You decide.
