151102 Christ had redeemed us from the curse

1) God blessed Adam and Eve to (i) multiply (ii) replenish and (iii) take
dominion
28
And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and
multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion
over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every
living thing that moveth upon the earth. (Gen 1:28)
2) God turns curses into blessings. It is Gods nature and character of God
to bless. (Num 23- story of Balaam and Balak)
Num 23:20 : 20 Behold, I have received commandment to bless: and he
hath blessed; and I cannot reverse it.
Num 24:1: Balaam saw that it pleased the LORD to bless Israel
3) The curse is a result of disobedience, rebellion, living out of the will of
God (Gen 3:16-19)
16

Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy
conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire
shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.
17

And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice
of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee,
saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in
sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life;
18

Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat
the herb of the field;
19

In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the
ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust
shalt thou return.

4) Blessing vs Curse
Blessing is an empowerment to succeed
Curse is an empowerment to fail.
5) But when Christ hung on the cross, He became that curse (Gal 3: 1314)

13

Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a
curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a
tree:
14

That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through

Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through
faith.
Christ took the very produce of the ground that was cursed (the tree),
he hung on that cross and REDEEMED us from the curse.
6) As He hung on the cross, He enforced the Covenant of Blessing. He
said IT IS FINISHED.
Christ began His ministry with the 3 words, IT IS WRITTEN.
When the enemy puts negative thoughts in your head or makes you do
something not pleasing to God say IT IS WRITTEN.
When the enemy reminds you of the curse, say IT IS FINISHED.
Unemployment FINISHED
Sickness FINISHED
Lack FINISHED
7)

23

And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny
himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.
24

For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose
his life for my sake, the same shall save it. (Luke 9:23, 24)

8) Jesus FINISHED it all - IT IS FINISHED

He did not say it is beginning
He did not say it is finishing
He said IT IS FINISHED
Rejoice because of the FINISHED work on the cross
9) The blessings of Abraham are ours (Gen 12:1-3)

Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and
from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will
shew thee:
2

And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make
thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:
3

And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee:
and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.

10)
He redeemed us from the curse of the law that the blessing of
Abraham might come upon us. (Gal 3:14)
14

That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through

Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through
faith.
The covenant He made with Abraham is for us too.
11)

12)

Gen 24:1 and the LORD had blessed Abraham in ALL things.
Finances
Good health
Sound mind
Sound emotions
You are blessed any which way you turn.
You are blessed even in what is left over
The Lord blessed Abraham more than he can ask or imagine

Gen 13:14-17
14

And the LORD said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from
him, Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art
northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward:
15

For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed
for ever.

16

And I will make thy seed as the dust of the earth: so that if a man can
number the dust of the earth, then shall thy seed also be numbered.
17

Arise, walk through the land in the length of it and in the breadth of
it; for I will give it unto thee.

13)
Our forefathers may have covenanted with the evil one, but
Christ has redeemed us with His blood of a higher covenant.

14)

All these blessings shall come upon you: Deut 28:1-13

28 And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the
voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments
which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on
high above all nations of the earth:
2

And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou
shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God.
3

Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field.

Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy ground, and the
fruit of thy cattle, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep.
5

Blessed shall be thy basket and thy store.

Blessed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and blessed shalt thou be
when thou goest out.
7

The LORD shall cause thine enemies that rise up against thee to be
smitten before thy face: they shall come out against thee one way, and
flee before thee seven ways.

The LORD shall command the blessing upon thee in thy storehouses, and
in all that thou settest thine hand unto; and he shall bless thee in the land
which the LORD thy God giveth thee.
9

The LORD shall establish thee an holy people unto himself, as he hath
sworn unto thee, if thou shalt keep the commandments of the LORD thy
God, and walk in his ways.
10

And all people of the earth shall see that thou art called by the name of
the LORD; and they shall be afraid of thee.
11

And the LORD shall make thee plenteous in goods, in the fruit of thy
body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy ground, in the
land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers to give thee.
12

The LORD shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give the
rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand:
and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow.
13

And the LORD shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt
be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou hearken unto
the commandments of the LORD thy God, which I command thee this day,
to observe and to do them:
