The Corporate Trademark

The corporate trademark

grid

The Fortinet corporate trademark consists of

a graphic symbol, the grid, (pms 485 Red)
combined with a typographic letter form of the
word Fortinet (Black) that together create a
single, unified trademark image.
The grid graphic replaces the letter O in
Fortinet, becoming graphically a part of the word.
Each individual letter in the word Fortinet has
been custom drawn for consistency and balance
throughout the word. This custom letter form is
clean, modern, and easy to read and reproduce.
Negative spaces are open and balanced.

The registered trademark protection is a

part of the corporate trademark and must never
be removed. It may be enlarged as required to
maintain readability.
Editorial
In text (editorial), the word Fortinet is always
written with an initial cap F and the balance of the
word in lower case. All caps is acceptable.
The word Fortinet must carry the
trademark protection at its first occurrence in
body text (not headlines) on any printed piece or
electronic communication.
THE FORTINET CORPORATE TRADEMARK MUST
NEVER BE ALTERED OR MODIFIED IN ANY WAY.

Proportions

Proportions

The Fortinet corporate trademark was constructed

with an aspect ratio (width to height) of 8.75:1.
This proportion must never be altered. Particular
care should be taken when placing the corporate
trademark in an application such as Microsoft
Word, or PowerPoint where the image proportions
are easily changed by dragging the corners of the
picture window box. This will change the aspect
ratio of the trademark and is to be avoided.

The Fortinet corporate trademark may appear in

the same graphic field with other logos, graphics,
and type. It is important to maintain a minimum
amount of clear space protection around the logo
to avoid confusion of the brand. This clear space
helps establish the importance of the logo in
environments where it competes with other graphic
elements or logos for attention.
The unit of measure X equals the height of the
Fortinet corporate trademark letter form. The
minimum required clear space protection extends
the distance 1.5 X above and below the logo and
2 X to the right and left.

THE GRID
The Grid

The grid
10% opacity black

The Grid graphic element of the Fortinet corporate

trademark is a distinctive, widely recognized
element of the Fortinet brand identity. As such
it must be used in strict compliance with these
application guidelines.
The grid is an integral part of the Fortinet corporate
trademark. In its solid fill form (solid red or black),
it must never be used independent of the Fortinet
logo, or in combination or association with any
other words.
The Grid As A Watermark
A transparent impression of the grid may be used
independently as a subtle watermark impression
in certain situations where an extended sense of
the brand is desired. It is a transparency a 10%
opacity of black. It works well as a transparency
over photography as in the example on the left.
It also works well over solid colors and textural
backgrounds.

The grid as a watermark

Never apply the watermark overlapping the

corporate trademark. Look for an area of a graphic
field well away from the Fortinet logo itself. It must
be used carefully so it does not cause confusion
with the primary trademark, which is why it is never
to be used with a solid opaque fill.
THE FORTINET GRID MUST NEVER BE ALTERED
OR MODIFIED IN ANY WAY.
