Transfer from London Airport to Birmingham and check into hotel. Celebrate Mass. Welcome dinner and
overnight in Birmingham.
Friday, September 17, 2010 Birmingham (B)
Celebrate Mass. Visit and tour the Oratory in Birmingham including tours of Cardinal Newman’s room,
private chapel, archives or original handwritten works and library. Overnight in Birmingham.
Saturday, September 18, 2010 Oxford/Birmingham (B, L)
Take a tour of Oxford including the new Catholic college of St. Bede’s Hall. Attend the lecture in Oxford by Fr.
Ian Ker (pending confirmation.) Visit Littlemore and Maryvale where the first English Oratory was established
as well as Rednal where Cardinal Newman was buried. Celebrate Mass in Oxford. Concert this evening: the
“Dream of Gerontius” composed from Cardinal Newman’s own words (pending confirmation.) Overnight in
Birmingham.
Sunday, September 19, 2010 Birmingham (B)
Guaranteed tickets for the Beatification Mass with Pope Benedict XVI in the section containing the Oratorian
worldwide groups. Overnight in Birmingham.
Monday, September 20, 2010 London (B)
Celebrate a special Mass at the Birmingham Oratory before departing for London. Visits include the
London Oratory (Brompton), Westminster Cathedral and Tower of London (including a visit to the cell at once
occupied by Thomas More.) Check into hotel for two night stay in London.
Tuesday, September 21, 2010 London (B, D)
Celebrate Mass, then day at leisure in London with time for shopping and private sightseeing. Farewell dinner
and overnight in London.
Wednesday, September 22, 2010 Return USA
Transfer to London (Heathrow or Gatwick) airport for return flight to USA.
