Objective
It is intended to provide a platform and opportunity to discuss the recent trends in the field
with a larger objective of furthering individual and collective research and developmental
activity in technical institutions and organizations. The course will be beneficial for
developing innovative skills for the product design and manufacturing with the help of
CAD/ CAM Technologies, Automation, Robotics and in the Mechatronics field. The main
objective of this programme is to provide a platform to upgrade hands on training so as to
be aware of practicality and to bring in good rapport between the resource persons and
participants and to enhance knowledge based training.

About the Staff Development Programme

It is essential for the Teaching Faculty to update their knowledge and adopt the emerging
technology and spread the same amongst the students. The scope of this SDP includes:
Robotics
CAD/CAM/CIM
Mechatronics
Finite Element Application in Engineering
Flexible Manufacturing System
Application of Soft computing Techniques in Engineering

Speakers
Faculty members from host institution and other reputed institutions shall be covering the
topics by delivering expertise talks.

Eligibility
Full time regular Faculty members from AICTE approved Colleges, Institutes and
Universities are eligible to participate in this course. Approval letter from concerned
authority is mandatory.

Registration form is available with this Template as well as at www.igitsarang.ac.in. The
same should be filled up and forwarded by the sponsoring Authority and submitted to the
Coordinator , RTCRM 2011 along with the Registration fee of Rs.500 *.

About the Institution

Indira Gandhi Institute of Technology (IGIT), Sarang offers PG, UG and Diploma
programs in Engineering and Science. The most of the programmes were accredited in the
year 2008 by the National Board of Accreditation of AICTE. The departments are greatly
benefited by the expertise of faculty. Each department conducts annually at least one
Conference / Seminar / Workshop for effective dissemination of state-of-art technologies
and research findings for the benefit of teaching faculty and industries. The Institute is
extremely proud of its alumni, a considerable number of them being entrepreneurs or
senior executives in industries both within India and abroad. The Institution is located at

Sarang, at the side of river Brahmani , about 8 kms from Talcher and 120 kms from
Bhubaneswar and is well communicated by Bus and Train . The climate is cool and
amusing at IGIT during November and stay will be very much pleasant during the period.

About the Department

The Department of Mechanical Engineering has all the infrastructural facilities required
for imparting high quality education and is planned to meet the present day needs of the
society. The Department is equipped with excellent laboratories provided with state-of-art
equipment and experimental facilities. The Department is also having a well equipped
separate CAD laboratory for usage of the Mechanical Engineering students and Staff. The
Department has qualified and experienced faculty members.
