About Avanti
Avanti is a social enterprise established by IIT alumni in 2010 to help bright students from lowincome homes gain admission to Indias top colleges. At present, we have 60 full-time employees and
250+ volunteers at 10 top college campuses (including 5 IITs). We currently operate 13 learning
centers across 10 locations in India and teach 600+ high school students science and math. Our centers
implement a unique peer collaboration pedagogy developed by the Dean of Applied Physics at
Harvard, Prof. Eric Mazur, who serves as Avantis chief academic advisor.
We teach students to learn from books, videos and their peers - resources that are abundant, accessible
and consistent in quality. Additionally, students are provided focused doubt solving by academic
experts. This blended learning pedagogy allows us to deliver quality education at a fraction of the cost
of traditional education models.
Avanti is a PanIIT Alumni India initiative, winner of the Stanford BASES Social E-Challenge 2010
and recipient of the Echoing Green, Ashoka and Draper Richards Kaplan Fellowships.

Overview of the Role
The Program Associate is responsible for inspiring, motivating and managing the academic outcomes
of one to two batches of students studying at Avantis Learning Centres.
Roles and Responsibilities
1. Classroom Facilitation
Facilitate classroom sessions for ~30-50 students through our unique pedagogy that requires
students to view recorded videos, discuss conceptual questions with peers and work collaboratively
on problem sets/assignments
Help students transition from the traditional lecture-based classroom model to our peer-to-peer
learning model
Instil a healthy learning culture where students actively collaborate and take ownership of their
studies
2. Academic Guidance and Support
Coach students to improve their learning styles by focusing on conceptual learning in place of rote
learning
Help students better absorb the Avanti curriculum by providing customized academic support for
each student
3. Mentoring and Counseling
Build strong relationships with students and their parents through one-on-one mentoring sessions
Recruit and train student volunteers to serve as mentors, thus providing our students guidance and
inspiration

Career Progression at Avanti

Program Associates form the backbone of Avantis operations. After a 1-2 year stint learning the ropes
as a Program Associate, employees grow within the operations track or can transition into a curriculum
development role based on their academic / managerial ability and interests. The next promotion could
be to one of either of 2 internal roles:
Senior Program Associate responsible for training and managing Program Associates who in turn
run Avanti Centres and further growing into the role of a Program Manager managing several
centres.
Curriculum Associate responsible for developing content and conducting tutorials and doubt
solving sessions across Avanti Centres and further growing into a curriculum development role.
We take career development seriously and will make every effort to help our PAs develop the skills
they need to become effective managers as they grow within the organization.
Compensation: Rs. 3,00,000 per annum
Location: New Delhi, Mumbai, Kanpur, Patna
