Plonsters
MumbleBumble
Rex the Runt
St. Bears Doll Hospital
The plonsters are 3 cute, cuddly and funny little monsters, who are able to transform themselves into anything - a tree, a shark, a worm or even an airplane - you name it.
They behave just like children do. They have fun, they play, they fight and they make it up
again. The stories take place in various situations, at the fair, on the beach, in the jungle but
wherever they are, they always experience funny and entertaining adventures.
About MumbleBumble
Mumblebumble is a giant rather clumsy blue hippo who lives in an old windmill near the woods.
It is a wonderful and quiet world, like a walk in the garden of peace on a Tuesday morning. The
real world is probably out there somewhere far, far away.
It is a gentle and embracing world where even boredom is permitted because it sparks the
imagination of MumbleBumble and his friends: Chico the chicken and Greens the frog.
There are no real conflicts, but lots of challenges and practical problems. In each episode they
create something new. The tools are imagination, team work and whatever is at hand - especially MumbleBumbles mill is bulging with knick-knacks which can be combined in ever new ways
by using glue, pulleys and other tools.
In each episode MumbleBumble and his friends spend some time philosophizing about Nature.
Why does it rain? How come MumbleBumbles mill looks so small at a distance?
The stories are devoid of violent action but packed with adventures and new experiences.
Each episode will clearly inspire the young viewers to look around and use their own imagination and creativity. Valuable qualities in the fast paced world of today where kids have been
deprived of much of the initiative.
When dolls, teddies and toys are broken, where do they go? St. Bears Dolls Hospital, of
course!
This crazy and unique hospital is run by Doctor Teddy Stitching together with his ever faithful Matron, nurse Penny Cillin and the two Russian bears Pins and Needles. The hospital is not
only a place where sad dolls are cheered up, dalmatians with small-pox cured and toy soldieres
fixed, but also the place where your children on their television sets can follow the hectic and
varied routines of the staff at St. Bears Dolls Hospital.
As well as the staff there are of course the patients, among them Snorer, an old police dog who
has lost his bark, and Jack in the Box whose broken spring sends him flying into the weirdest
places, and last but not least a test dummy called Woody whose heart is bigger than his brain.
In each episode a toy or a doll will be committed to the hospital and then the actions begins.
The main issue of the episode is of course to repair and fix the toy, but apart and around the
eternal small gags in between, the steady cast goes on to the amusement and recognition of
the viewers.
The puppet show is first and foremost a show built upon English humour, secondly it is a show
concerned with characters, emotions and thirdly it holds important educational insight into
basic mechanics and geography. The mechanics will stem from Pins and Needles not always successful experiments into making spirals, batteries etc. The geopgraphy will represent the origins of the guest-toy, the Russian dolls, the Dutch clogs etc. and of course whatever strange
destinations Jack in the Box ends up in.
