BootLoader

BootLoader
The BootLoader is a tool which transfers firmware from a computer to a LinTronic product.
Unless you know that the latest firmware holds specific features that you want to make use of, or
unless LinTronic have recommended an update, then an update is nornally not required.

You open the Configurator and establish a communication (Connect) with the LinTronic
product.
Then click "CheckForUpdates" to learn whether a new firmware is available for your
product.
Download this firmware into a folder on your desktop called LinTronic" and unzip the
firmware. Typically you will find two files. A .HEX file and an .EEP file.
Then you enter the BootLoader.

If power to the computer or the product is lost while your are updating with new firmware, then
your product most likely no longer be able to establish a normal connection with the computer,
however you should still be able to load new firmware.
The BootLoader is not part of the normal program and is normally not corrupted by a power or
communication failure.
If you own a product which you cannot etablish connection with in the Configurator, then download
the wanted firmware from our web-site (Support | Program/Firmware), store and unzip the
firmware - and go straight the BootLoader when opening the Configurator.

Click "Computers Comport"

Check Baudrate19200, Parity None, Databits 8, Stopbits 1
Click "Ports" to see the available comports.
When you open a comport then ignore if you get this:

If you are on the right comport, you must receive a '^' when you power up the Lintronic
product. If you do not get this character on any comport - and you have the right cable
and any required USB driver installed - then you might have a defective product.
Our failure rate since 1993 is less then 0.1 % - do NOT return any product unless agreed
with LinTronic. Please consult our Online Support.
