Task Procedures:
1. Ask pupils count 1 and 2 alternately.
i. Count 1 , 2 from here. (Starting from the pupil nearest to the door, pupils
alternately count 1, 2 until all pupils have called out a number)
2. Group pupils into two groups (define group - verb group on the left as Group 1 ;
adverb group on the right as Group 2)
i. Those who called out 1 go to the left. Those who called out 2 go the right.
Classroom Management: Count 1-10 while gesturing silent sign to get pupils
to segregate silently.
3. Distribute verb word cards to Group1. Distribute adverb word cards to Group2.
4. Call out a pupil from Group 1 to stick thier word card onto the whiteboard.
i. Someone from Group 1, please stick your card here. (gesture to the left
side of the whiteboard)
5. Ask all pupils to read word card aloud with guidance.
6. Get a high proficiency pupils to help act out the meaning of the word and pupils
follow.
7. Repeat steps 4-6 until all word cards from Group 1 are on the whiteboard.
8. Repeat steps 4-6 with Group 2. (stick word cards at the right side of the board.)

Classroom Management: When pupils get too noisy, clap 3 times and gesture
'silent' sign. Pupils need to follow suit (clap 3 times and make 'silent' sign).
Managing errors and mistakes:
a. If pupils read the word/phrase incorrectly/poor pronunciation, correct them and
ask them to repeat before getting the rest to follow.
b. If pupils could not describe and act out the meaning of the word/ phrase, correct
them and ask them to repeat before getting the rest to follow.
Reward and Feedback
a. Praise pupils when they answer your questions correctly, i.e. Good job!, Very
good!, Well done!
b. Get pupils to applause when a classmate completes the task correctly.
