JOB SUMMARY

This position also requires planning, coordinating and performance of tasks,


which are legal in nature in conjunction with the Office of the President and CEO.
The holder of this position reports to and is under the direct supervision of the Legal
Manager, in the absence of Vice-President for Legal Affairs, Human Resources and
Administration (LAHRA)
B.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Legal Services:

Supervises and reviews the work of the lawyer and staff, particularly in the
proper prosecution and litigation of cases;

Appears as Prosecutor in administrative proceedings against erring officials


and employees before the PPI Investigating Committee;

Prepares pleadings, motion and other papers on important cases involving


PPI which are not handled by the Office of the Government Corporate
Counsel;

Assists, attends or closely coordinates with the handling lawyer of the Office
of the Government Corporate Counsel on important civil cases of PPI;

Appears as collaborating counsel with the handling lawyer of the Office of the
Government Corporate Counsel on important civil cases of PPI involving
highly technical and operation-oriented matters;

Conducts fact-finding or preliminary investigations of administrative


complaints filed against officials and employees of PPI and renders
Resolutions/Reports and makes recommendations thereon for review and
approval of the Vice-President;

Supervises and reviews the works of the lawyer and staff, particularly in the
drafting of opinions, legal advices or comments on legal issues/queries
concerning the operations of PPI; position papers regarding legislations and

resolutions of the legislature that affect PPI or require PPIs participation


and/or contribution; and preparation of contracts/agreements that may be
entered into by PPI with other government agencies or private
corporations/individuals;

Renders opinions, comments, recommendations and position paper on


complex legal queries and issues involving the operations of PPI;

Supervises and leads the conduct of legal researches and studies on points of
law that may enhance the accomplishments of PPIs mandated tasks;

Provide legal advice and technical support in all Bids and Awards proceedings
of Bids and Awards Committee of PITC Pharma, Inc.

Performs other related duties as may be deemed necessary.

Policy Development

Review and advise management on legal implications of internal policies and


procedures

Review and draft contracts, agreements and internal policies and ensure that
they are in compliance with all statutory or legal requirements

Contract Negotiation

Prepare, review and modify contractual instruments to assist and support


various business activities
QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Education

Bachelor of Laws

2. Experience

One (1) year of relevant experience

3. Training

Eight (8) hours of relevant training

4. Eligibility

RA 1080 (BAR)

5. Skills

Litigation, Corporate, Legal Research

6. Scope

Corporate Law, Procurement Law, Taxation

7. Other Special Requirements:

Knowledge in government regulations and


Republic Act No. 9184, is an advantage
