5.1 The Engines Start and the Operation of PTO

The function of the PTO is that conveying the power from the engine to the oil pump and
the pump exports high-pressure oil to the working mechanism so as to carry out every
movement.
Caution:
a. Handles in operators cab are in neutral before the PTO engaged.
b. The outrigger handles are also in neutral.
c. The handle of the gear-box is in neutral.
d. The chassis is in the state of braking.

5.1.1 The PTO Engaging Operation

1 open the shutoff valve of the hydraulic tank.
The hydraulic tank
Turn the handle of the hydraulic tank cut-off
valve as shown in the figure to connect the
hydraulic tank and the hydraulic system.

The cut-off valve

2 turn the power switch on and start the engine.
Turn the start switch below the steering
wheel as shown in the graph to make the
system electricity on.
Continue to turn it in the same direction
to start the engine. Preheat and then start the
engine when in cold weather.

Check the air pressure meter

The engine runs steadythe air pressure:0.60.8MPa.

4 disconnect the clutch.

Step on the pedal of the clutchthe clutch is separated entirely.

5engaging the PTO.

6set the handle of the gear-box at forth shift and also can at third shift if it need smooth
operation at low speed..

Press the PTO switchconnect the PTOthe

indicator light of the PTO is on the PTO
connected.

7engaging the clutch.

Loose the clutch pedal slightly, the pump driving
mechanism and hydraulic system work.

At this timethe crane is ready to operate.

Caution: Run the engine about 15 to 20 minutes before operation.

5.1.2 The Disconnection of PTO

1 disconnect the clutch.

Step the clutch pedal to the bottom entirely

separate the clutch.

2resume the handle of the gear-box to neutral.

Press the PTO switchthe PTO indicator light is off,
the PTO cuts off.

3disconnect the PTO.

4 release the clutchs pedal
Release the clutch pedal slightly.

Stop the engine.

Press the engine-stopping switch until the

engine stops.

Cut off the power.

Turn the start key anticlockwise until the

meter lights in the meter panel are off, the total
system is cut off.

At this time, the crane is out of work.

Caution:
aStep and loose the clutch slowly.
bThe engines speed can be controlled by the accelerating button besides the
outriggers control valve or the accelerator pedal in the operators cab , and also the
pedal in drivers cab.
cIf the PTO switch pressed by accident in driving, step the clutch pedal immediately
otherwise it is very dangerous.
dWhen repairing or exchanging the PTO and driving mechanism for oil pump, do
put up a warning board on the start key at the chassis otherwise it is very dangerous.
e The chassis operations related with the engine start and stop etc. refers to the
operation manual for chassis.
