World Book Day went well. Super costumes! Great fun had by all.
Music Service INSET went well. The possibility of using Skype and
other packages to enhance childrens learning experiences is there.
Improvement Plan target to enlist the support of more and more
external agencies being met. Last week saw police road safety input,
as well as speech therapy & advocacy links.
First drafts of the two SEFs now completed and being reviewed at the
current round of Governor committee meetings.

Chelseas Choice production hard hitting but got the message across
very effectively once again. Students got a lot from it.
Two useful visits for the GCSE Business Studies group on Friday to
TotalPost and the Spar. The Basic Skills group also had a good trip out.
Thanks to FB for the World Book Day Quiz in assembly. Students
enjoyed it and clearly knew a lot about the books they had read.
Sam Beaumont will be joining out exam invigilation team for this
summers exams following her meeting with PS last week. It will be
good to have someone of her background and experience with us.

From ST:
Tutor activities are Literacy this week - Dean has the activities in his literacy pack.
Thursday is our Pupil Premium Review day. Ellen Mothersdale will be in school from 11am
meeting myself and Tracey to go through our PP action plan. Lesson 3 and 4, we will be in
Maths and English talking to students and looking at books. Please can all teachers and tutors
have a look at the Raising Achievement Plans for our underachieving PP students and be
ready to talk about how you target PP students in your lessons and tutor groups from
questioning to marking to homeworks etc. I'll send out the updated plans today with the
action plans complete on them after our last teacher's meeting discussion.
Looking ahead to next Monday (14th). Ron and his colleagues are in school to run a PSHE
enrichment day for all Year 9,10,11s. They will be off timetable all day and will have 5
activities, one per lesson. They will be in groups of 10. I'll send out the details of the groups
and rooms they'll be using.

From LC:
This week is monitoring week with observations taking place Thursday and Friday. A
conversation will be had prior to the observation to agree the area of questioning you want to
focus on for feedback. Remember the training that we did last term, this is an opportunity for
you to reflect on how you have implemented these strategies.

If any teachers are planning on running any Easter revision sessions could you please let me
know dates, times and classes its open to so we can send one letter out with all the
information.
