Description :
Filsafat dekonstruksi Derrida menawarkan pemahaman dan perspektif baru
tentang arsitektur, sehingga proses pemikiran kembali (rethinking) premis dan kaidah
tradisi arsitektur dapat dilakukan. Arsitektur sebagai suatu hasil karya dapat dipandang
sebagai kumpulan tanda-tanda atau sebuah teks yang mengkomunikasikan nilai-nilai,
makna / arti yang ada dibalik wujud fisiknya. Oleh karenanya ada peluang untuk
membaca dengan strategi dan metode dekonstruksi Derrida. Walaupun aspek arsitektur
dalam kajian permukiman relatif sedikit, tetapi Derrida telah menawarkan pola berpikir
yang sama untuk aspek permukiman & perumahan.
Gresik sebagai kota pelabuhan pertama di Jawa Timur (dari Leran pindah ke
Gresik) berperanan penting dalam rute perdagangan Internasional pada jalur Selatan :
Selat Malaka - Laut Jawa - Maluku, selain sebagai rute perdagangan dunia, juga sejalan
dengan rute perkembangan dan penyebaran agama Islam.
Syech Maulana Malik Ibrahim, ulama penyebar agama Islam di Jawa (mendarat
di desa Leran pada abad ke 13), beliau kebanggaan para penguasa pada jaman
Majapahit, sehingga beliau diangkat sebagai syah bandar pertama di Gresik dan diberi
tanah kekuasaan di desa Gapuro (dekat pelabuhan Gresik), yang kini dikenal sebagai
batas wilayah Desa Gapurosukolilo dan terletak di pusat kota Gresik (Gresik kota lama).
Kini wilayah itu adalah salah satu kampung tua di Gresik dan disebut Kampung Arab
Malik Ibrahim. Penduduknya mayoritas keturunan Arab-Yaman. Jika dilihat dari
tampilan; pola tatanan dan fungsi perumahan di kampung ini; terjadi perubahan yang
khas dan mencolok (kontras/dobrak/dekonstruksi) antara kondisi di masa lalu dan masa
kini. Perubahan kondisi itu disebabkan oleh perubahan pola perilaku dan mata
pencaharian penduduk Kampung Arab; atau oleh sebab-sebab yang lain.
Terkait dengan hal diatas, maka bagaimanakah perubahan perumahan di
Kampung Arab Malik Ibrahim Gresik dari sudut tinjau dekonstruksi ? Untuk itu metode
penelitian yang dipakai adalah Metode Penelitian Deskriptip dan Penelitian Historis;
yang bertujuan meneliti secara intensif fenomena yang terjadi pada saat ini. Analisa
dilakukan secara kualitatip dan kwantitatip, dengan mengambil kasus di wilayah RWII
Kampung Arab Malik Ibrahim Desa Gapurosukolilo Kecamatan Gresik Kabupaten
Gresik.
Adapun hasil penelitian yang didapat bahwa melalui sudut-tinjau Dekonstruksi,
Perumahan Kampung Arab Gresik telah mengalami perubahan pada tampilan
perumahannya dari tertutup menjadi terbuka dan pada pola tatanan perumahannya dari
berpola khusus menjadi berpola tidak khusus

The philosophy of Derrida Deconstruct ion offers the comprehension and new
perspective in architecture, so that the process of rethinking on premise and term the
architecture tradition can be done. Architecture as an achievement can be considered as
a group of signs and a text which communicates values, meanings behind its phisical
appearance. Therefore there is a chance to read by the strategy and method of Derrida
Deconstruction. Though there are a few dwelling instruction on the architecture aspect,
but the Derrida has offered the same pattern of thinking for dwelling & housing aspect.
Gresik as the first harbour city in East Java (moved from Leran to Gresik) had
an important role in the international trade route in the South route: Malaka Strait - Java
Ocean - Maluku, beside as the world trade route, also as the development and spreading
of Islam Religion.
Syech Maulana Malik Ibrahim, the holyman spreading of Islam in Java (landed
on Leran village in 13th century), he was the pride of authorities at Majapahit era and
was appointed to be the first leader port in Gresik and given authority lands in Gapuro
village (near the Gresik harbour), which known as the area border of Gapurosukolilo
village and located in the town centre of Gresik (the old town of Gresik). Now that area
is one of the old kampung in Gresik and called the Malik Ibrahim Arab Kampung. Most
of the populations are the Yaman-Arab descendents. If it is seen from the appearances,
the system patterns and the function housing in this kampung, have to be the spesific
and conspicuous of changing (contrast/deconstruct) from the past to the present time
condition. The change of condition are caused by the change of behavior pattern and
occupation of Arab kampung inhabitants, or by other causes.
Connected with the above cases, how the changes of housing are in Kampung
Arab Malik Ibrahim Gresik from the deconstruction point of view ? Therefore the
research methods used are descriptive and historical research methods, in order to
research the phenomena intensively that is happened now. The analysis is qualitatively
and quantitatively, by taking the cases in the area of RW II Kampung Arab Malik
Ibrahim Desa Gapurosukolilo Kecamatan Gresik Kabupaten Gresik.
The result of the research explained that through the deconstruction point of
view, the Arab Kampung Housing in Gresik have been happened in the change of the
impression of the housing appearance from closed to opened impressions and the
system of the housing pattern from special to unspecial patterned housing system.
