K-12 Education Curriculum

The K to 12 Program covers Kindergarten and 12 years of basic education (six years of
primary education, four years of Junior High School, and two years of Senior High School
[SHS]) to provide sufficient time for mastery of concepts and skills, develop lifelong learners,
and prepare graduates for tertiary education, middle-level skills development, employment, and
entrepreneurship.

The Purpose of K-12 Education Curriculum

The Philippines is the last country in Asia and one of only three countries worldwide with a 10year pre-university cycle (Angola and Djibouti are the other two).
A 12-year program is found to be the best period for learning under basic education. It is also the
recognized standard for students and professionals globally.

Guidelines and Conditions of Voucher Program

Further to DepEd Order No.11, s. 2015, entitled Policies on the Implementation

of the Senior High School (SHS) Voucher Program under the Government Assistance to
Students and Teachers in Private Education (GASTPE), the Department of Education
(DepEd) issues this Order to provide details on the conditions, requirements and
processes with regard to the Implementation of the Senior High School (SHS)
Voucher Program, such as:

Student Eligibility and Voucher Value;

b.
c.

Voucher Validity and Redemption;

Conditions for Voucher Program Beneficiaries;

d.

Provider Eligibility and Requirements;

e.

f.

Voucher Tiers;

Processing of Vouchers and Payments to Schools; and

g.

Monitoring and Program Compliance.

The guidelines stated herein are subject to change pending any amendments
in the provisions on the SHS Voucher Program as may be contained in the 2016
General Appropriations Act.

STI steps up to bridge this gap by introducing the Enrollment to Employment or E2E System.
The E2E System is a complete approach to human resource development, which aims to develop
ICT-enabled professionals through innovative learning and career planning methodologies.
Through the E2E System, STI students get applicable education, job market skills, job
preparedness, and job placement assistance.
The first step is the Learning Systems Development which ensures that the curriculum content is
up-to-date and job market-oriented. A group of exemplary professionals in various fields
prepares the curriculum/curricula being taught in all STI campuses.
To make sure that the courses being offered are carried out well, STI implements the Academic
Delivery System. This guarantees that highly qualified faculty and the state-of-the-art facilities of
