SBECC kairo Taiwan Team 2010

WHO: Sharon, Kelly, John, Emi, and Jamie. WHAT: Teaching the YouthAlpha program to youth and college students.
WHERE: JiaCheng Church in KaoShiung, Taiwan. WHY: To spread the gospel to those who do not know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
WHEN: June 28-August 9. HOW: By God's grace alone, through the power of the Holy Spirit.

After going on short-term missions to China four times in the past, I’m excited and eager to see the work that God
is doing in Taiwan. While clearly closing other doors, God has clearly opened the door for me to go to Taiwan
this summer and has been faithful in growing my heart for the Taiwanese. In addition to leading our team of 5,
I also see my role as one who will constantly be praying for the needs of the team, while my other teammates are
building relationships and teaching about the Bible in Chinese (due to my lack of fluency). Please join with me in
prayer as we seek to live out the words of the Apostle Paul in Acts 20:24

I grew up in Taiwan and moved to the U.S. with my parents when I was 15. Even though I’ve spent half of my
life here in the States, I still consider myself Taiwanese/Chinese through and through. Therefore, the privilege
of going to Taiwan for my first missions trip is especially meaningful to me. God has graciously blessed me
with proficiency in two languages, and I am very excited to see how He would use me as part of the team this
year. Please pray that I would be able to keep my focus on Him and Him only throughout the trip. Also, that
as I go through this experience, to keep an open mind for future possibilities in the missions field, whether
short or long term. Most importantly, please pray that God would use the team to touch hearts and change
lives of people in the community we would be serving at this summer. Kelly Lee

Greetings! If you are reading this, that means God has decided to allow you to be a part of something near and
dear to my heart: global missions! I believe in the vision that the apostle John wrote about in Revelation 7:9, that
God will call people from every nation to worship Him at the end of time when the saints are finally seeing God
face to face. This vision MUST include the people of Taiwan. This year, for the first time, God has graciously
allowed my schedule to line up with the church’s short term mission and I hope to see God work through us to
bring the vision of Revelation 7 to life as we proclaim the Gospel in Taiwan.

This past winter, I attended Urbana09, a missions conference. Since then, it is my conviction that as Christians,
we should be missions-minded in all that we do. As such, I am honored to be a part of this year’s Taiwan Team.
Truthfully, I did not envision myself ever going on a mission trip. I guess this just shows that God can change
hearts! Although I have visited Taiwan many times, this will be the first time I will be going there on a mission trip
and I am both excited and anxious. Please pray that I would embody Christ’s love, and that I would be going
with a heart that is ready to serve. Check out returning.tumblr.com for updates. Thanks!

Thank you, thank you for your faithfulness in praying and supporting our team all these years. After last year, I
made a promise to myself that as long as God keeps the doors open, I would continue to serve Him in Taiwan...
and here I am again! I can’t believe this will be my fourth year going back to Taiwan for missions, Praise God!
It has been such a blessing to be able to witness and be part of the planting and growing of God’s seeds. I pray
that this year will be no different in that we will continue to reach out to the Taiwanese people and share the good
news of Jesus Christ with them. As God has used Taiwan to touch my heart, I pray that Taiwan will touch your
heart too :)
