Abstract – In today’s world risk and cost are two most
important considerable analyses to develop any kind of
software or product for an enterprise, for an organization
and for a company. Above These two issues are not with
Open ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning). Open ERP is
an impressive software system, being simple to use and yet
providing great advantages in helping you manage your
any kind of big/small company.
It's easy to install under Windows and under Linux
compared with other enterprise-scale systems (Like SAP),
and offers unmatched functionality.
This project is intend to provide services of Open ERP to
Customers, Publishers, Distributors, any kind of person or
users who belongs to it.
Index Terms – Open ERP, SRM&CRM, Inventory, Invoicing,

INTRODUCTION
Risks and integration costs are important barriers to all the
advantages you gain from such systems. That's why, today,
few small- and medium-sized companies use ERP. In addition,
the larger ERP vendors such as SAP, Microsoft and Oracle
haven't been able to reconcile the power and comprehensive
cover of an ERP system with the simplicity and flexibility
wanted by the users. But this is exactly what small and
medium enterprises are looking for.
Open ERP is an Integrated Management Solution which is an
open source (complete and free). Open ERP is used in multi
company, multi warehouse, and multi currency.
The organization which are departments based, vertically
structured, are emerging in today’s scenario and the
integration around processes is the everyday reply to the
company’s creativeness need, reliability and anticipation.
The need is to be able to understand each other, to work
efficiently between sales, marketing people, technicians,
accountants and logisticians of a same company in order to
optimize the global functioning. For that purpose, we need a
common language, shared referential, practices and
communication modes. The ERPs (Enterprise Resource
Planning) constitute the ideal tool for such an organization of
the business.
CASE STUDY

Mr Kevin manager of Crossword book store . I asked
following some questions regarding my project like that:
-How they manage their book inventory?
-How they contact with publishers and distributors?
-How they manage with customers ?
-How they generate billing?
According, all above questions answers I made use cases for
Sales management which mainly considered for generating
invoices, Receiving and dispatching of orders and for an
Inventory.
PROPOSED FEATURES
With the use of existing Open ERP modules, customization
would be done for certain features like inventory management,
accounting & financial management, sales management,
purchase management for book publishing house.
Inventory Management [1]
Open ERP has a support for many different logistics for the
invoicing automation: from the sales orders, from costs
(timesheets, purchases, etc.), from tasks, from recurring
subscriptions, etc.
Sales Management [2]
The Sales modules will allow managing and classifying sales
orders on a structural and hierarchical system. It gives the
ability to create new orders and to review the existing orders
in their various states. Confirmation of an order can triggers
delivery of the goods, and invoicing timing is defined by a
setting in each individual order.
Purchases Management [3]
Purchase management enables you to track your supplier’s
price quotations and convert them into Purchase Orders. Open
ERP has several methods of monitoring invoices and tracking
the receipt of ordered goods.
You can handle partial deliveries in Open ERP, so you can
keep track of items that are still to be delivered on your orders,
and you can issue reminders automatically.
Open ERP’s replenishment management rules enable the
system to generate draft purchase orders automatically, or you
can configure it to run a lean process driven entirely by
current production needs.
A Example Billing Generated By Open ERP
The bill generated by open ERP system after customization
has fields like code, particulars, rate quantity and total. In
figure2 shows the python code for billing feature and figure3 Figure2

.The use case involve actor like sales manager and use cases
are review of orders, receive orders , dispatch orders and
generating invoice use case.

Use case diagram for inventory

Figure 4 shows the use case diagram for inventory
management. The use case involves actors like Inventory
FIGURE 1 manager, Business Administrator,. The cases involved in are
SNAPSHOT OF THE .rml FILE CODE login, validate login details, reports, add new title, book
transfer, and search, add book inventory. The search case
includes further divided case like by title, by author, by ISBN
and case item transfer includes to inventory, to organization
cases.

CONCLUSION
This report presents a comprehensive study of various
modules of open ERP. The customization of the features like
inventory, billing and sales would greatly benefit book
publishing house. This Open EPR system is open sourced that
is it is free of cost and would be a great benefit for small
bookstores and publishing houses.

FUTURE WORK

1. Further study of open ERP modules

2. Coding of various new features for inventory, billing,
accounting, sales.
3. If possible successful deployment in real world scenario.
