1. Introduction
Dyseggxia (Piruletras in its Spanish version) is a mobile game that helps
children with dyslexia to overcome their reading and writing problems by
means of fun word games. All exercises in Dyseggxia have been
scientifically designed to target reading and writing errors that are
committed by dyslexic children.
The exercises are targeted with the intention of helping the difficulties
caused by dyslexia. Their effectiveness has been evaluated in a school with
a group of children with dyslexia from first to fifth grade. For the design of
the exercises we have combined current pedagogical strategies with the
results of the analysis of written errors made by children with dyslexia. To
know more about the scientific evaluation, please read the Technical
Overview of Dyseggxia available at the www.dyseggxia.com.
Dyseggxia offers:
More than 5,000 different exercises.
Five difficulty levels: initial, easy, medium, hard and expert. These
have been designed according to word frequency, word length,
morphological complexity of the word, and the number of similar words
in language.
Exercises in two widely spoken languages: Spanish and English.
Each level contains several exercises from 6 types: insertion,
omission, substitution, and transposition of letters as well as word
derivation and separation.
It provides graphics that show the learning evolution of the child.
