Global Education Futures (GEF) Map

This map has been created as part of Global Education Futures initiative, prepared
by Re-Engineering Futures Group. This map is a result of five years of work that
brought hundreds of Russian and international experts into co-creative vision
building for the future of education. The maps represents key trends driving the
transformation of educational systems, and the forecast of events and technologies
that will make significant impact on the future education. In the context of this
project, education is understood as a multitude of institutions that support training,
nurturing, professional and personal development throughout their human life
including kindergarten, schools, colleges, universities and other types of educational
institutes.

2018:

Semantic Web organization of knowledge creation, storing and transfer in the web
is based on automatic processing of meanings.
Threshold of Omniscience total digitization: a point in time when all
human culture has been digitized. Everyone can have access to all
information produced in the past.
Global University of Professional Trajectories global database of
educational, vocational and personal development trajectories is set up.
Interactive Teachers Simulators interactive teachers that student does

becomes a personal tutor finely tuned to meet each students needs.

2030:
Death of Renaissance Man Arrival of the generation of dyslexics results
in the disappearance of polymath. People have trouble coping with
unorthodox challenges.
Cyberspace Graphomaniacs Noosphere becomes polluted with the output
of AI activity.
Universal Declaration of Robot Rights introduction of pioneering
legislation regulating the right to run off robots and delete their work.

2015-2016:
Wiki-Foresights innovators are taught on-line cooperative thinking.
New Business Education convergence of business education and personal
development.
Education Works with Thinking Style education helps to develop various
thinking style and switch between them when necessary.

2017:
Automatic Systematization & Clusterization of Scientific Knowledge
image recognition systems allow automatic classification and
systematization of all knowledge types.

2019:
Artificial Intelligence Organization Research Teams artificial intelligence
helps identify potential areas of scientific exploration and promising team
members.

Crisis of basic research growing complexity and raising costs of basic


research, couples with decline in the number of new fundamental
discoveries, reduces investments into basic research.
Open Applied Research Market exchange trading in research equipment,
materials, teams, ideas, etc.

2020:
Competition in Libre Knowledge changes in scientific knowledge creation
models. Digital models of reality compete in virtual space.
Open-Source Knowledge the current model of assigning intellectual
property rights disappears. Distributed assignment of rights using digital
footprints is introduced. (AIR American Institutes for Research owner of Open-Source and is one of 2 testing consortia for state
standardized tests in all states).
Schools of Thought a Thing of the Past traditional schools of thought
coming from specific territory/language, are completely replaced by multilingual transnational communities of thought.

skills appears.

2016:
Attention Management Schools to fight ADHD, training programs and
courses are developed. Information overload makes attention one of the
key resources.

activities. After 2020: psychological patterns can be simulated.

2107:
Natural Interfaces digital devices in mobile and wearable form adopt to
ergonomics and natural patterns of human bodies. Desktop computers
start to disappear.
Biofeedback Coach biofeedback system becomes a widespread solution.

2018:
Neurointerfaces for Mass Market cheap and user-friendly neural
interfaces become mass market consumer product.

2019:
Sensorium obtaining complex sensory experiences becomes possible through
biofeedback (games, movies, edutainment, etc.).

2020:
Watch-Out virtual simulators of dangerous situations trained with biofeedback.

2025: NEW MODEL OF SCIENCE


The Second Psychedelic Revolution Widespread use of legal substances altering
the state of the neural system, fighting stress of having recreational potential.
