The study was conducted in Year 5 Barathithasan. There are several limitations I can found from
my study. The absence of pupils to the class had affected my data collections. The pupils with
health problems are advised to stay at home. And I had missed some classes due to the
unexpected gatherings like assemblies, tooth check operations and competitions arranged by
school. Yet, Im able to adjust the time and conduct the research successfully, and come up with
findings.
Although the study has some limitations, but it was conducted as how I wanted to. I hereby, like
to convey my suggestions towards further learning about the inquiry based activities and
integration of creative thinking skills into it. The data collection method for this study also
addresses some limitations where, the survey questions are similar to one another. Therefore, the
questionnaires would be best asked based on the research questions. And the questionnaires can
be repeated for several times, to measure and differentiate the range between two results. Then,
the survey would have effective analysis.
Interviews in this study was well elaborated, and the codes has expanded to answer the research
questions the interview transcription had played a significant role towards the data analysis and
interpretation. It would be my suggestion, to conduct the interview by answering on an openended questions checklist. Whereby, the interviewer will ask questions stated on the checklist
and transcribe it into simpler words. This will be the most effective way of analyzing the
interview transcriptions.
Moreover, number of questionnaires should be reduced and it should be transformed into more
observational data collection method. The observation can be done in many ways, such as

observe being an oberservant and observe pupils by being a part of them. This method will more
useful when describing the evolutions made my pupils while carry out the activities. The attitude
towards Science also can be measured accurately.
Inquiry based learning is based on asking questions about a problems. The questions asked by
pupils can be noted and use as a data collection method. The results will be effectively answered
the research question. When, I was about to conduct the research, Im not sure about my research
questions and what appendixes I need to use to answer the questions well. After I studied the
entire lessons and homework on inquiry based learning its easy for me to carry out the research.
Another limitation I can found was the availability of primary resources in institutes library.
Although I had made several trips to other resources centre, it was difficult for me to find out the
closely related journals to my study. I had traveled a lot for the primary resources and finally,
come up with my report.
Taken as a whole, the research questions must be supported by quite number primary resources.
Or before proceed the proposal for action research the focus of study should be analyzed for the
resources and continued to work on it. To carry out a research on creative thinking skills the
researcher should be ready with plenty of hands on and minds-on activities.
