First,whatexactlywastheSovietplaninPoland?Wasittobepoliticallyincorporatedwiththe
restoftheSSRs,orwastheintentionmerelytooccupyit?Eitherway,itseemslikethiscould
havebeenatallorderforaweakenedandimpoverishedSovietstate.
Second,howexactlydidtheyplanon"exportingrevolution"toGermany?Wasthehopejust
thatseeingarevolutionarystateontheirdoorstepwouldinspiretheworkerswhohadbeen
recentlycrushedtomakeanothergoforit?OrwastheplantocommittheyoungSovietstate
toanactofmilitaryadventurism?IdoubtBritainandFrancewouldhavejustallowed
Germanytofall,andthefledglingSovietstatewasweakenedbyWWIandtheRussian
RevolutioninawaynootherEuropeanstatewas.Iwonderifitcouldsustainawarevenwith
ademilitarizedGermany,letaloneonewhereFranceandBritaincontinuedmeddling.Long
supplylines,aweakenedindustrialbaseandanexhaustedifexperiencedandcapablemilitary
