The twentieth century saw great change.

In your
opinion, what is one change that should be
remembered about the twentieth century? Use
specific reasons and details to explain your choice
Thesis: there are many important change in any branch of science such as
technological, cultural, and social science in 20 th century. In my view advance of
medical science is the most important change. The invention of vaccines and
antibiotics, increasing clinic and hospital and improve of operational technique help
to improve better life of millions of people.
Paragraph 1:
Main idea: first, the major invention of medical science is vaccines and antibiotics
that have saved the life. With the help of vaccines and antibiotics many diseases
and infection are now completely preventable. For example, polio was once a very
dangerous disease. Many people were crippling due to this disease and many of
them also die. By the invention of polio vaccine now people are completely safe. A
lot of people such as solders or people who live in as unhygienic condition once
suffer by infection. This infection leads people to die. In 18 th century pen cilium
antibiotic was invented. Form then it is used to heal infection. Now, Solders do not
suffer by infection. In 20th century medical advance especially invention of vaccines
and antibiotics is unprecedented. Thus, medical science has remarkably changed.

now get treatment very easily as compare to past. For instance, in past, there was
only one clinic or hospital in a community or a district. Difficulties comes when
people fall sick or sudden accident or emergency that cause die because people
travel long distance to get treatment and there were no available ambulance. But
now there are number of private or public clinic and hospital in a community or
district. People easily meet a doctor and treated very easily. Now they fall less sick
that bring better quality of life which was impossible in past. This shows that
medical science has modified.

Supporting detail:

2. easier to get treatment
3.
Paragraph 3:
Main idea: third, medical technology is remarkably improved that provide easier
solution in many medical problems. For example, Microscopic and lesser surgery
method are more efficient than older one. Doctors are now easily treating any
problem without dissection of body. In past many people lost their arm, leg in war or
any accident. They pass rest of their life as static. But now artificial limb, plastic
surgery now gives people new life. They lead their normal life. Patients are now cure
easily and recover faster without any intricacy as compare to the past and lead
better life. Hence, in 20th century most important change is in medical science

Some people prefer to live in places that have the same

weather or climate all year long. Others like to live in areas
where the weather changes several times a year. Which do
you prefer? Use specific reasons and examples to support
your choice.
Thesis : depending on personal experience and personality , we find that some
people prefer to live in mixed weather meanwhile others choose to live in same
weather. In my view, I would prefer to live in same weather especially warm climate
because life would be easy and comfortable in warm weather. Moreover, there is lot
of fan in warm weather and also I save money form some seasonal requirement.
Paragraph 1:
Main idea : first, in warm weather I lead an easy and healthy life. For example, i live
in the Shimla which has mixed weather. I always feel sick in the time of weather
change. I always have a headache, nausea and other disease. After some year, I
get a job in Mumbai. I shifted here. Weather in Mumbai is constant and basically
warm. I feel better now. I lead a happy and healthy life. I take exercise regularly and

also go to outside when I have free time in Mumbai but in Shimla It was impossible
because weather in Shimla is not suitable for me. This shows that, same weather is
beneficial.
Supporting detail :
1 I get sick every winter
2.i could be outside all the year
3.
Paragraph 2:
Main idea : Second, in warm weather I get opportunity to do a lot of fun. For
instance, I like outdoor game and outdoor activity. I like to play football, cricket,
going to beach and riding my bicycle. I cannot do this in mixed weather because it
hampers my activity. In warm weather I can do my favorite activity easily all year
long. Thats why, warm weather is best in all weather.
Supporting detail :
1 outdoor activity
2.favourite activity
3.
Paragraph 3:
Main idea: third, I would have cost a lot if I live in a mixed weather. Different
weather have different nature and if we adjust this weather such as, in winter we
need warm cloth and also need a firehouse to maintain room temperature . In rainy
season everyone need umbrella and rain coat. It cost money to buy new cloth every
time when season changing. But, if we live in same weather, especially warm
weather we need light cloth that we wear all over the year. So we do not need to
buy new cloth. Hence, same weather is good.
sapporting detail :
1 heating is more expensive
2. no need to buy new cloth
3.

Some people like doing work by hand. Others prefer using machines. Which do you
prefer? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer

Thesis : depend on personal experience and personality, some people prefer to

doing work by hand, meanwhile others choose to using a machine to do their work.
In my view, I prefer to doing my work by using a machine because machines are
faster and good finisher. Moreover, it never gets tired.
Paragraph 1:
Main idea : First, machines moves very first. This property is helpful when I do a lot
of work in a short time. For example, if I write a fifty page study report by hand it
takes certain amount of time. Instead, if I use computer it take less time as compare
to hand. In the same token, it is time consuming, if I write ten letter by hand. But, if
I use a photocopy machine, I just write the latter once and photocopy it . Both of the
machines work fast than hand. So, using machine is beneficial.
Supporting detail :
1 write a letter by hand time conuming
2. computer
3.photocopy machine
Paragraph 3:
Main idea : Second, machines finely finish the work. It never make mistake and
refine the whole work nicely. For instance, I have a bottle industry. Every time
machine produces thousands of bottles with exact size and shape. They never get
distracted and do their job neatly. If I compare myself with machine I never be as
perfect as machine. Hence, machine is best than hand.
Supporting detail :

1 no mistake
2.do not get distract
3. all job neat
Paragraph 3:
Main idea : third, machines never get tired. For example, if I can set a photocopy
machine to make 100 copies or 200 copies, it can do this without any difference. In
the same token,if I ordered a coffie machine to make 1 cup or 10 cup of coffie,
there are no difference between one cup and ten cup offie. In each cup has same
ingredient in same proportion. On the other hand, if I worked hard, I get tired and
not able to do the same work in same degree. For this reason, machines are better
than hand for same type of work.
In some, although some might be urge to doing his job by hand, especially in
crafting occupation where subtle error can not be solved by machine, but for quick
production, neat delivery and tiredless efford I prefer machine to doing my work
Supporting detail :
1 photocopy machine
2. answering machine

Universities should give the same amount of money to their
students sports activities as they give to their university
libraries. Use specific reasons and examples to support your
opinion
Thesis: Nowadays, some hold the opinion that university should provide as much
money to their students sports activity as they give to their library.
As far as I concerned, I object to the statement because that object to the
statement that same amount of money should be provided to student sports activity
as university library
I object to the statement that university should provide as much money to their
students sports activity as they give to their library. Even though, sports are
important to students but library is essential to them. Without library, students
cannot study properly. A library requires a lot of financial supports to maintain up to

in? Use specific reasons and details to support your
answer.

Thesis: I would like to prefer to live in a big city because transportation is easier in
a big city. Moreover, life is very exciting and various people live in the big city,
which give me a different experience.
Paragraph 1:
Main idea: first, in a big city transportation is much more easier. For example, I live
in a megacity called Dhaka. There are bus stands, taxi stands in every section.
Moreover, in some point there are subways. People easily go from one place to
another by bus, taxi and subway. Roads are one way and very wider. So people
never fall in traffic jam. Moreover, public transportation is very cheap. On the other
hand, in a small town, transportation is the big problem. The Roads are narrow and
infrastructure is bad. There is not enough bus, taxi. So that, people arduously go
from one place to another. Thats why, I prefer to live in a big city.
Supporting detail:
1 bus, taxi, subway
2 cheaper and convenient
3.
Paragraph 3:
Main idea: Second, there are many facilities in a big city. For this reason, living here
is more convenient than a small town. For example, there are a lot of malls in a big
city. People buy their necessary goods cheaply. In a big city people are more
concern about their health and safety. Medical facility and emergency service are
easily accessible to people. Internet and technological innovation make life more
comfortable. Thus, a big city is better than a small city.
Supporting detail:

interact with each other. In a big city population density is high so that, a lot of
events held here. There are a lot of recreational and social events such as orchestra,
concert, theater, cinema hall etc. people participate this events and interact with
each other. On the other hand, life is dull and boring in a small town. Population

density is low. There are no recreational facilities. So that people pass their off time
lonely. Thus, living in a big city is much better.
In some, although, some people prefer to live in a small town because of healthy
environment, but I prefer to live in a big city for better transportation, better facility
and interact various people.
Supporting detail:
1 different people of different country, religion and race
2. Know a lot about this

How do movies or television influence peoples

behavior? Use reasons and specific examples to
support your answer
Thesis: in my view, movie and television influence people both positively and
negatively because it reduces our stress and remove some prejudice. Moreover it
also makes us passive and influence to do violent activity.
Paragraph 1:
Main idea: First, movie and television influence positively in some way. For
example, every day we lead a very busy life. There are many stresses in every
sphere of our life, such as in the office work, in a communication, in business
dealing, in home activity and so on. A movie or television can certainly remove this
stress or show a positive way to resolve the problem we face. In addition, it also
removes some prejudice. Movie and television give us a broader window to see the
world. For instance, we see the people of different race and culture in a movie. It
can also show us an actual event or history that we have previously known
negatively. By this way it can reduce our prejudice. Thus, movie and television are
helpful.

On the other hand, movie and television can also have negative influence. It makes
us lethargy. Watching movie and television is a passive activity. So if we spent more
hours to watching television, we become mentally and physically unhealthy. It also
influences us to do violent activity. For example, horror movie and crime watch
serial show us how to do crime or violent activity. We see supernatural activity in
horror movie that influence some people to do this in real life which have negative
effect to the others. In the movie, murder has no consequence. Even, some movie
actor is murdered but in another movie same actor appears again. People often
think that killing a people is not permanent .Sometime this makes us confuse with
our reality. Moreover, crime serial shows us various crime activities such as murder,
hijack, kidnaping, gambling, smuggling, etc. This also shows us how many ways a
specific crime activity will occur. Young generation is influenced and prone to do this
activity. They do this exactly the same way and the same style as serial shows.
Thus, movie and television degenerate our society.
In some, move and television has both positive and negative effect. How we
influence depends on what type of movie and television event we watch and how
long we watch this and also our responses.
Supporting detail:
1 horror movie
2 crime watch serial
3.
Paragraph 3:
Main idea: make us less active

2 spent lot of time
3.

wish. How would you use this land? Use specific details to
explain your answer
Thesis: I live in a small town. If I have received some land, I build a campground on
it because; in my town there is less opportunity to outdoor recreation. Moreover,
indoor recreation in expensive and there is no sufficient events that everybody
enjoy.
Paragraph 1:

village. For example, in my village there are a small park and a playground. People
are not comfortably going there. Inside of the park, there is no sitting place. Some
bad activities were held there, so that inside environment of the park is not
appropriate for people. In addition, we have only one playground and it is not very
big. Children and adults are playing in the afternoon. Due to short space, all
activities were not done properly. So build a campfire is a great idea because people
come here and take rest. They gossip together and take various activities which
they enjoy.
Supporting detail:
1 Small Park and play ground in my village

Paragraph 3:
Main idea: Second, indoor recreation is costly. For instance, we have a movie
theater, concert hall, and orchestra; but ticket price is very high. It is hard for those
who have a large family. Also we have a museum, but visiting here is very
expensive. For this reason people take part less in recreational activity. On the other
hand, a campground is primarily a less expensive place, where People spent la lot of
time for their recreation. They come to relax here and enjoy themselves. Thus, a
campground serve as a important place of all kind of people.
