LESSON ORGANISATION
Year Level: 10

(based on Australian Curriculum: Health & Physical Education)

Time: 9am

Students Prior Knowledge:


Students have already been taught the basics of:
- Handballing
- bouncing and Kicking
- Combination of skills for a desired out come

Learning Area: Health & Physical Education

Strand: Movement and Physical Activity

movement, and learning through movement
Teachers Prior Preparation/Organisation:

As a lot of the oval will be used teacher must


always check for hazards
Teacher must ensure that all equipment is easily
accessed and that equipment such as footballs
are pumped and ready to be used

LESSON PROGRESSION

Motivation and Introduction: Teacher will brief students on the roles they will take on today and what
needs to happen within the lesson.

Warm up:

Ensure the
designated sports
medic from each team
has provided their
team with a decent
warm up that includes
stretches.

Give teams a designated warm up area that they can


use in the weeks to come without much instruction
form teacher.

Students will break off


into their teams the the
rostered sports medic
will then take the warm
up based off information
they received off their
chosen app.

Teacher must see that all students are actively


involved in the warm up and are showing respect to
the sports medic

Bridging organization

Teams will be handed a coloured bib that they will stick with through out tournament. Teacher will
then give students five minutes to go over attacking and defending roles as well as tactics
Round 1 of
Tournament
There will be 4 teams.
Round 1 will be:
Team 1 vs Team 4
Team 2 vs Team 3
Umpires will be chosen
by teacher and must be
provided with a whistle.
Games will be 10 minute
halves with 5-minute
break in-between to get
a drink, and talk tactics
using what they had
learnt from coaching
apps.

Teams must make


sure that all students
are actively involved
in the games. This
can be done by
modifying game, for
example; Making sure
there is 6 possessions
before a goal can be
kicked.

Both grounds are marked out so that the goals and


boundaries can be identified.
Teacher must be patrolling both games and may stop
to provide feedback if necessary.
Example how one game will look:

The umpires are


keeping track of score
and teacher is in
charge of time
The teacher must
ensure that students
are using all the
correct KTPs during
the game.

After games are


completed students are
responsible for
equipment and making
sure that all is placed
back where they found it.

Teacher asks for feedback on how round one went

Collects scores and puts on a white board

Collect best on ground players from umpires and records with confidentially

Announces next weeks games and provides feedback on what could be done better when
running the tournamen
