POSITION TITLE: Event Operations Intern

COMPANY INFORMATION: Finesse Cuisine is Chicago’s premier off-


premise catering company. We are the ‘go-to’ choice for planners who are
uncompromising in their desire for the best in service and food. Finesse
Cuisine entering our seventh year, creates custom designed events of
various styles and sizes that include; premier media launches, luxury retail
openings, social and corporate parties that take place within unique venues
and private homes.

DUTIES/JOB DESCRIPTION: Finesse Cuisine seeks a detail-oriented,


proactive, creative and enthusiastic person to help in day to day event
operations to include creating function sheets, managing equipment, linen
and floral orders and to really learn how off-premise catering works. This is a
paid internship with the opportunity to work at some catered events for
additional experience and income.

The selected intern will learn about the ins and outs of the hospitality
business. Catering and special events draws people that love to entertain,
who are interested in the lights, the wine and the Jimmy Choo shoes,
however this profession calls for much more. Successful hospitality
professionals must possess a strong desire to provide great service but must
also have the ability to envision the entirety of a project/event, including how
each department operates and depends on the other as well as pay close
attention to all the minute details.

HOURS: Flexible, ten hours minimum, fifteen maximum hours per week,
plus an opportunity to work events for a higher rate.

REQUIREMENTS: Finesse is looking for an intern:

 who lives for hospitality
 who understands how to prioritize to meet deadlines while providing
consistent, accurate work
 demonstrates strong computer skills especially with Word and Excel
 is proactive with great attention to detail
 can think outside the box and anticipate client needs and troubleshoot
 Preference will be given to those majoring in Hospitality

Student will be required to interact within a stimulating and team oriented


environment and to be self motivating. Previous office experience is
preferred.
