ACADEMIC HONESTY PLAGIARISM
Cheating is copying from others or providing information, written or
oral, to others.
Plagiarism is copying without acknowledgement from other peoples
work.
According to university regulation (by-laws) cheating and plagiarism
are serious offences punishable with disciplinary action ranging
from simple failure from the exam or project, to more serious
action (letter of official warning suspension from the university for
up to one semester).
Disciplinary action is written in student records and may appear in
student transcripts.

Preparing for Midterm Examinations and Final Examination (Hints)

Reading the text book in addition to the notes will help you not only in
understanding the subject material better but also in solving new type
of problems you may not have seen in tutorials or notes.
The midterm exams and the final examination test your understanding
of the subject. Therefore, memorizing the text book, notes, tutorial
solutions, and (if you have my past exam solutions) will generally not
help you in the getting a good mark.
While preparing for the exam try to solve tutorial questions and
problems in the text book and notes without looking at the solutions.
Just remember you will not have your text book, notes or solutions in
the exam!

Preparing for Midterm Examinations and Final Examination (Hints)
Understanding the derivations and the proofs in the text book and
notes is very important if you are aiming for a good final mark. A good
understanding of the theory will help you in solving problems you
havent come across in tutorials or the notes.
If you can understand the theory completely, solve the tutorial
questions and the problems in the notes without looking at the
solutions or the notes, then you should be able to solve any question in
the exam.
The exam and test questions in general may include both problem
solving and theory based questions.

Rules and Procedure
4. The grade for each experiment session contains the performance shown
during experiment and lab report and is;
Total Performance and Marks:
Total Performance and Marks: (T = 20% PR (pre lab performance) + 20% R1
+20% R2+40% R3):
where
PR is the pre lab performance, (You have to give it to research assistant
while you enter the lab)
R1 is the solution of tasks, problems and analysis/design studies given in
the manual,
R2 is the experimental results, and
R3 is Conclusions.

Rules and Procedure
10. Each group member must prepare her/his report. They are responsible
for submitting an individual laboratory report based on their own work.
11. The report will be zero if it didnt submit to the instructor in time (in the
first 10 munities of the following lab session)
12. There is no mark for the students of different groups which have the
same experiment results or information. Their actions will be forward to
the head of department/faculty for disciplinary action.

Report Format
General:
Prepare the effective report is important to be assessed and marked properly. The
laboratory report must contain enough information so that it can stand alone with
reference to the laboratory manual and EEE 352 course lectures and cited references if
necessary.

Report Organization:
Title Page: Give the title of the experiment.
Introduction: Give a brief summary the aim and purpose of the experiment. Do not copy
from the lab manual and from other resources from internet.
Tasks and Problems: Do tasks and give answer of the problems in the manual.
Experimental Results and Discussions: The lab session may have more than one
experiment then give the experiment result and discuses the results.

Report Format
Report Completeness:
Write your report such that the reader can follow and understand it without referring to
the lab manual and experiment sheet. Include diagrams, tables, etc that are needed to
understand your report. It is important to attach engineering units to key results
throughout the report. (e.g., use 2.5 Volt/rpm instead of just 2.5).

Explain;
a) What you intend to do,
b) What you actually observed and
c) Your conclusions (Did you observed what you expected, and why or why not?, etc.).
Give the answer of the questions given in the last section of lab manual.
