PowerPivot for Excel is a data analysis tool that delivers unmatched computational

Installing PowerPivot
Download
1. To initiate a download of the software, go to:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=
e081c894-e4ab-42df-8c87-4b99c1f3c49b&displaylang=en
2. Click Run to start the install

You must have administrator permissions to do this!

3. Click Next to continue
4. Accept the terms of the license agreement and click
Next.
5. Enter your name and company if applicable and click
Next Click Install to begin the installation
6. Click Yes if you are asked whether to allow the
installation. The install will take a few minutes to run

7. Once complete, you will see the window on the right


8. Click Finish to complete the installation

9. The next time you start Excel it will load the
PowerPivot software
10.Click Install
11.You should see a new tab in Excel called
PowerPivot:

You may get an error message that says this:
the microsoft .netframework 3.5 sp1 must be installed on your computer
before you can install power pivot...

If you do get this message this means you need to install:


Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1

You can download this by following this link:

the graphic interface
to build the query, by
selecting Design

filters, slicers or measures
First select the PowerPivot Window
launch

Note that there is a tab for

spreadsheet
