Title : Hydraulics Practice I ( Automation Studio-Basic Circuit )

Instruments: Automation Studio Software

Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion this task, students should be able to construct and simulate a basic hydraulics
circuits.
Procedure :
a. This exercise will show how to create a hydraulics circuit with a customized directional valve

that can be built with the other option of DCV arrangement..

Figure1
b.
c.
d.
e.

With the components from the Hydraulic library, construct the illustrated circuit in Figure 1.
In the Directional Valves category, select Others then component.
A dialog box appears which allows us to specify the required parameters of the valve.
Once the circuit is completed, go to the Simulation mode to verify that the circuit work
correctly.
f. Explain your observation in the reports.

Title : Hydraulics Practice II ( Automation Studio-Circuit with Pressure and

Flow Control )
Instruments: Automation Studio Software
Intoduction:
Pressure and flow controls are found in the majority of hydraulic circuits. They are generally
adjustable and allow a control on the speed of actuators and the force they can generate.
Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion this task, students should be able to familiarize the functioning of pressure and
flow control, construct and simulate the circuits.
Procedure :
a. With the components from the hydraulic library, construct the illustrated circuit in Figure 2.

Figure 2
b. To modify the settings of pressure and flow controls, In the Edit mode, set values in three
different ways: when insert components in the diagram, when choose the Properties control
from Edit menu Or when double-click on the component. Any setting modifications made
during simulation are permanent. The properties will not return to their initial values when
the simulation is stopped.
c. Explain your observation in the reports.

Title : Hydraulics Practice III(Automation Studio-Electrohydraulic Circuit)

Instruments: Automation Studio Software

Figure 3
Intoduction:
Electrical signal is one of the method to actuate the Directional control Valve. In this practice the
Automation studio is used to demonstrate the application of electrohydraulic system.
Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion this task, students should be able to create a diagram that can demonstrate the
inter-dependent relation between (US) Electrical diagram components and Hydraulic
components.
