Introduction

1. Introduction
Dear Customer,
we are pleased to welcome you to the user group of our ARISTOMAT
high speed cutters. The new digital cutting machines ARISTOMAT were
developed specifically in response to the growing demand for more
employed processing machines for automated volume production: a work
surface which is accessible from all sides, extremely robust
crossbar with minimal overhang at the sides, strong AC-servomotors
and flawless vacuum technique with matrix zones.
The intuitive CutterControlPanel Software provides completely new
possibilities of user handling. The user has all information on cutting
data on the PC-screen and controls all processing functions
comfortably by mouse-click. Essential functions such as manual control
or setting of origin can be carried out from any point of the cutter by means
of a mobile control pad.

Safety Instructions

3. Safety Instructions
General
In accordance with observed current safety guidelines, the ARISTOMAT
is classified as a production machine for use in an industrial environment.
Nevertheless, danger can arise when safety instructions are not
observed and kept to during operation, or when the machine is not used
in compliance with its purpose.
In order to avoid injuries to personnel or damages to the plotter the following safety rules must be observed at all times. The following safety rules
are complemented by special safety and danger notes in the individual
handbooks of the tool heads.

Proper use
The proper use of the cutter and the observance of the safety
regulations are basic prerequisite for its safe operation.
The cutter is intended for processing of materials arranged on the
cutter table. The supplied equipment determines the possible uses of
the cutter.
Any other use which does not meet this description shall be classed
as improper use. The operator is solely liable for any damage resulting
from improper use !

Improper use
Improper use of the machine can:
Cause injury
Result in serious damage to the machine
Lead to loss of warranty
Improper use of the machine includes, among other things:
deliberate or careless interference with the machine during operation
non-compliance of safety instructions
use of tools not permitted by the manufacturer
processing of non-permitted materials for this machine
installation of foreign appliances at the plotter system without written
permission from the manufacturer
non-compliance of the service intervals as recommended by
the manufacturer

Safety Instructions

Operators
The ARISTOMAT shall only be used or operated by thorough
trained and qualified personnel.
Every person who operate the plotter system must have read and
understood the Users Manual for the ARISTOMAT and its options.
Every person who operate the plotter system mus be over the age of 16.
Trainees shall only operate the machine under supervision of an
experienced operator.

Procedure in case of malfunctions

Any troubleshooting work or inspection on the cutter is to be carried out
only when it is switched OFF or in OFF-line mode.
Safety Devices (light barriers, collision Shut-off, EMERGENCY OFF
buttons in the plotter system) may not be bridged or put out of
operation under any circumstances.
If malfunctions cannot be remedied by the operators using simple
measures, a authorized service technician must be informed.

Occupational safety
The local regulations regarding safety at work and accident prevention
must always be observed for the operation of the cutter systems.
Safety settings must be checked as to their functional readiness.
The plotter may not be put into operation if faults in the functions arise.
The ARISTOMAT, tool heads and accessories shall only be put in
operation when in faultless condition and shall only be used as delivered
from the factory.
Covers serve safety purposes. Do not operate the ARISTOMAT, tool
heads and/or accessories without covers.
Unauthorized modifications or alterations to the machine that could
affect safety are prohibited.
Installation, start up, maintenance, and repair of the machine may only
be executed by manufacturer authorized service technicians.
Use a maximum air pressure up to 8 bar. Use only oil-free and pulsefree compressed air.
Do not wear loose clothing, ties, jewellery, etc.; tie back long hair.
- these can otherwise get caught in the moving parts of the machine and
cause severe injuries.
Always remove tools from tool heads before assembly (disassembly)
- danger of injury.

Safety Instructions

Replace blades carefully. Handle with care, a sharp blade can cause
injuries. Worn down and broken blades can also cause injuries.
Take care when blades break during operation, Pieces of the blade may
be in the cutting underlay or in the material - danger of injury.

WARNING
The plotter system uses mains voltage
Separate machine from electricity mains and lock the power
switch in the OFF-position with a padlock, when
repairing or servicing the ARISTOMAT
Turn the main power OFF, when
changing a tool head
Turn the drive system OFF, when
changing a tool, such as blades
loading and/or aligning material
When the drive system is under power
maintain a sufficient safety distance from the traversing bridge over
the entire area of travel: Do not lean over the table top or rest on it
and do not move under the ARISTOMAT
do not place objects in the caution area
do not look directly into the laser beam of the laser pointer
Caution
When working with Conveyor
do not place objects under the conveyor belt
do not touch the conveyor return
do not touch the conveyor clamps
do not reach under the conveyor belt
At material transport system
do not lean over the material advance system or rest on it
be careful when loading up material and inserting the roll in the bearings
- danger of bruising
do not manually interfere during transport process - danger of injury
for the transportation and handling of material rolls it is
recommended to wear safety boots

do not operate the router without suction device

Note during dust formation

During the processing of various materials, health hazardous mist or
stream can be released (see safety data sheet of material manufacturer). This must be taken into consideration in the choice and usage
of an exhaust appliance.
The exhaust appliance must be approved for the respective dust
category according to DIN EN 60335-2-69 Anh. AA and
E DIN IEC 61 J/94/CD. With the release of carcinogenic substances
(or substances under suspicion of causing cancer) the exhaust
