1. The strategy development process must be aligned with both, the long term
sustainability plan as well as the short term growth plans of the organization.
2. The action plan, thus must be defined in such a way that it is in alignment with
the strategic objectives.
3. In this sector, emphasis on sourcing and technological advancement as a
strategy has to be formulated wherein long term business relationships are built
with the suppliers.

Customer and Market Focus:


1. The most important thing in any industry customer segmentation and offering
customer support. This can be done by improving the product quality, product
innovation, pricing strategy and after sales services.
2. It is very important for an organization to provide technical support. This gives
the organization a competitive edge.
3. Since this sector is catering mainly to power plants, defence, railways and
other manufacturing industries as its customers, it is very important to know and
also build a good relationship with its customers by understanding their workculture and providing them with what they exactly need.
