CONCEPT
European Youth Speak Forum
Bulgaria | 2016
ABOUT
European Youth Speak Forum is an event organized by AIESEC, that takes place once a year,
bringing top young leaders together with business leaders, thought leaders and experts for a
conversation around youth contribution to the global agenda. The aim is to generate actionable
ideas that will impact the world.
Supporting Youth Citizenship in Contributing to the Achievement of the Sustainable Development
Goals. Youth for Global Goals is an initiative powered by AIESEC aimed to activate the leadership
potential of young people around the world by engaging and mobilizing them through purposeful
and cross-cultural projects around the globe. Projects are designed to support the implementation
of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The core of Youth for Global Goals is to drive
concrete action by young people towards the Sustainable Development Goals; not just engage
them in advocacy.

EUROPEAN YOUTH SPEAK FORUM BULGARIA| 2016

Topic of the European Youth Speak Forum that will take place on 13th April 2016 in Varna, Bulgaria
is Mobilising Young People to Achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The Forum
will build upon conversations, output and learnings of the AIESEC Youth Action Summit, which
aimed to gather inputs and develop an action plan to mobilise young people globally towards
achievement of the SDGs.
European YouthSpeak Forum 2016 in Bulgaria will be the touchpoint for aligning thousands of
AIESECs volunteer and social impact projects with the SDGs, and the place where AIESEC will
launch the campaign Youth for Global Goals.

EUROPEAN YOUTH SPEAK FORUM FRAMEWORK

INSPIRE
Top business and thought
leaders from around the world
are invited to share their
knowledge with the delegates
about the chosen forum theme.
This section of the day is
delivered through short and
powerful talks and aims to
inspire delegates and help to
form their opinions for the rest
of the day.

ENGAGE
Our partner organizations
engage with delegates to give
new perspectives on issues
relating to the forum theme
through workshops,
conversations and idea
generation spaces. Youth and
business are able to interact,
exchange opinions and
understand what is being done
in the world already to address
the question of the day.

ACT
The youth delegates take their
learning and insights from the
day into a space where they are
able to co-create ideas and
solutions with their peers and
experts in the room. The aim is
to switch ideas into actions that
can be taken forward, and have
as a result commitments and
projects that organizations and
stakeholders can support.

THEME
ABOUTEurope: Mobilising Young People to Achieve
Ignite
the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG)

In September this year, the United Nations adopted the new global agenda
for sustainable development in New York. The UN member states,
governments, business, experts and leaders committed to address 17
sustainable development goals in the next 15 years for a better world.
Currently, almost 50% of the worlds population is under 25 years old.
Moreover, todays generation of youth is the largest one in history. If
together we invest in them now, we are ensuring that young people are
becoming key players today and top leaders of tomorrow who can utilise the
enormous potential to make the goals happen and build a better world.
In order for them to be ready, together we need to ensure that young
people are aware, engaged and acting upon the sustainable
development agenda.
In the last 5 years, AIESEC mobilised over a hundred thousand young
people, who went abroad to volunteer on social impact projects and
empower local communities. In the next 5 years we want to provide this
leadership experience to even more young people. Therefore, we aim to
align all the volunteer projects with the SDGs, so that each global
volunteer contributes to their achievement. And the time to start is now.

Sales Manager
DGFF in Mozambique
& AIESEC alumnus

My experience with DPDHL Group so far has being Fast & Furious. I
joined the company in 2012, as a Management assistant to the CEO of DHL
Sub-Saharan Africa. Since then I have worked in three different countries, in
two of them as a Senior Manager. I always felt the company is really
committed to make Africa great, by connecting the continent to the world,
and by facilitating trade in and out of its countries. My first years were full of
challenges- running through a transition from a non-corporate mindset and
organizational culture to a multinational corporate environment. However,
I received great coaching and support from my colleagues and managers.
Living some of the AIESEC values, such as Living Diversity and Striving for
Excellence, through concrete actions and behaviors enabled me to adapt to
a new reality and to go the extra mile on delivering outstanding results in
all projects I was involved.

Over 1,200 experiences and 20 years

developing leadership together.
Connecting people. Improving lives.
