PROJECT MANAGEMENT AZERBAIJAN-GEORGIA-TURKEY (AGT) REGION
Managed EPC contractor activities associated with FEED and execution stages, following a stage-gated process for
project appraisal, selection, definition, execution, and handover for startup. Project scopes encompassed eight offshore
drilling and production platform topsides located in the Caspian Sea, and onshore brownfield projects associated with a
world class oil and gas terminal facility.
2014-2015: Project Manager for multiple offshore projects in brownfield environment for the BP-operated facilities
listed above; overall project TIC more than $100M.
2013-2014: Verification Manager within the newly-created midsize project management organization in the Azeri
region. Worked with Project Managers and Functional Support Managers (Engineering, HSSE, Quality, Project Services,
Procurement, Construction, Commissioning, and Finance) to ensure projects complied with common process models.
Chaired deliverable definition meetings/deliverable completion verification meetings during each project development
and execution stage. Trained/coached teams and individual members on deliverable requirements of the mid-size
project execution model, and verification process requirements.
2012: Supported the global team in the development of a mid-size project execution model ($15-250M net), while
simultaneously completing existing project verification duties. Authored several procedures/templates used globally,
on all mid-size projects.
2010-2011: Managed a regional project initiative to develop a web-based handbook designed to translate the clients
existing high-level project management stage gate process into an interactive flowchart which defined the deliverables
required at each stage. Introduced a three-step verification/assurance process to ensure the steps executed in each
stage were adequate to support stage transitions. Assigned to the role of Verification/Assurance Lead and Small Project
Common Process Advisor, reporting independently to the Project General Manager. Simultaneously served as
Transition Manager, coordinating the consolidation of two existing EPCM contracts into a single EPCM contract, and
coordinating the implementation of an integrated Client-EPCM organizational model. Developed change management
processes/procedures required to seamlessly manage the transfer of ongoing projects to the successful bidder.
Supported the design of an organizational change which integrated EPCM management into the Client Management
team. Coordinated the implementation of the organizational change. Oversaw/coordinated the development of a
project execution handbook that aligned project development and execution procedures to support the newly
structured organization. Coordinated the relocation logistics associated with consolidating two offices into a single
location.
2007-2010: As Project Manager to a project organization executing brownfield projects ($2-250M) for the BP operated
facilities listed above.

Managed capital projects within the refining and marketing sector from initiation through startup. Completed project
identification, selection, FEED development, detailed engineering, procurement, and construction. Accountable for safe
project execution, while keeping projects within budgets and schedule parameters. Projected facilities included cokers,
ultraformers (reformers), waste water treatment facilities, catalytic cracking, fractionation/vapor recovery, oil
movements, marine operations, utilities, hydrogen production, pipe stills, alkylation, sulfur recovery, and sulfuric acid
production.
1992-1999: Managed the development/execution of 41 projects, with installed costs ranging from $1-$30M. Facility
locations included Texas City, Texas, and Yorktown, Virginia. Combined annual budget for project assignments ranged
from $40M-$100M. Project teams during this period performed over 1.8 million man-hours with no lost time injuries.
ENGINEERING DESIGN SUPERVISOR CENTRAL ENGINEERING, CHICAGO, IL, 1988-1992
Managed mechanical and civil engineering teams assigned to provide detailed design support and overall discipline
support coordination for multiple refining projects from $55K-$10M TIC. Provided one-on-one training and mentoring
for over 40 new engineering hires directly assigned to the team. Ensured consistent and safe implementation of design
practices. Supervised development of engineering management systems designed to estimate engineering manpower
requirements by discipline, by project, and on a cumulative basis. System provided scheduled versus actual engineering
execution progress.
Additional professional experience includes as a Fleet Operations Superintendent, Project Design Supervisor, Maintenance
and Reliability Engineering Supervisor, Operations Engineer, Maintenance Engineer, and Design Engineer with AMOCO.
