AD SPECIFICATIONS
The Saratogian offers clients’ ads to be built free of
charge. We do accept camera ready ads with the
following requirements:
FORMATS
• PDF files with embedded fonts are preferred.
• High resolution JPEGS for logos, art and photographs.
We can scan printed photos and documents for clients.
• Microsoft Word documents are accepted only if it is just
text, any pictures or art inserted in a word document
may not be visible when opened (fonts may not be the
same).
*We recommend that you make an eps and use Acrobat
Distller with Press Quality setting to make your PDF.
*Limited changes can be made to a camera ready ad if
required by the client and a proof will be provided.
*Files are processed using Macintosh computers
RESOLUTION
• 170 dpi for newsprint, 300 dpi for magazine and Print &
Delivers.
COLOR SPACE
• Color space should be CMYK (color) or Grayscale
(black & white), NOT RGB.
The Saratogian offers a number of ways to receive
ads in digital format:
EMAIL
• Ads are accepted via email if under 2mb in size.
Contact your account representative to obtain e-mail
address.
FTP
• Ads larger than 2mb can be uploaded to The
Saratogian’s FTP site.
• For PC’s: ftp://saragen@ftp.captialcentral.com
For MAC’s: ftp://ftp.captialcentral.com

WEB-BASED AD SERVICES
• The Saratogian can receive files from the following
web-based ad services: AdSend, AdPerfect, AdTransit
and Fast Channel.
EXTERNAL MEDIA
• Clients may bring in their ads on CD or USB drives to
their account representatives. Media returned upon
request.
ADVERTISE ON WWW.SARATOGIAN.COM
• Clients can choose where and what sections they’d like
their ad to appear on www.saratogian.com. Contact
