1. Teacher asks pupils how they will invite their
friends to join them for any activities
2. Teacher lists down the expressions on the
board
3. Teacher informs pupils Yes and No are
not the polite answers to an invitation
4. Then, together the class discusses how to
accept an invitation
5. Again teacher writes the answers given by
pupils on the board
6. After that, the class discusses how to decline
an invitation

Practice
( 20 minutes)

Group activity invitation card game

1. Teacher divides pupils into 4 groups


2. They will play the invitation game

Pupil A will pick one of the blue cards


and invite pupil B

Pupil B will pick one of the red cards and

she will reply according to the card

If pupil B accepts the invitation, the


game will move on and it will now be
pupil Bs turn to pick a blue card. If pupil
B declines, pupil A will pick another blue
card and asks pupil C

The game moves on until everyone in


the group accepts the invitation or the
time allocated ends

Production

Individual activity inviting friends

( 15 minutes)

1. Teacher distributes a one-week planner to


each pupils
2. Pupils are required to invite their friends to
do a beach activity per day for a week using
the expressions learnt in the earlier stage
3. Pupils must make sure that their activities
do not clash with the other activities

Closure
( 5 minutes)

Recap

1. Teacher asks 2 pupils to share their activities


with the class
2. Teacher asks the class what they had learnt
for the day
3. Teacher tells the class the importance of
accepting and declining invitation politely
