Labour Candidates for KENTON WEST

Vote Labour on 6 May

Caroline FRANCIS
Caroline is a university graduate and a journalist by profession. Since her school
days Caroline has been very active in community projects such as leading a team
of young people to look after allotments and organising various fundraising events
for global disasters such as the Tsunami, the Pakistan Earthquake and Bangladesh
floods.
At university Caroline was the Managing Editor for the student paper and an active
member of the student union mentoring new students. Caroline is very concerned
about threat to Kenton Library from the Conservative Council and she is against the
development of tall buildings in Harrow. Caroline believes that it is important to
keep the council tax as low as possible and opposes cuts to services that affect
local residents and the conditions of areas we live in. Caroline’s special interests
are music, ballet, blogging and football.

Richard Harrod
Richard has lived in North West London for his entire life and in Harrow for the past 5
years. Richard has been an elected councillor for 20 years and is proud of the his
achievements in improving the quality of life for his constituents.

Richard says, “The streets of Kenton need to be lit brightly in order to make it safer
for people to walk at night. The refuse collection service needs to be improved and
the roads regularly cleaned.”

He is a member of the Harrow Association of Disabled People and believes it of vital

importance that services to the elderly, vulnerable, and disabled are given a high
priority by a future Labour Harrow Council. As a governor of a primary school
Richard is keen to ensure that every child receives a good education. The pressures
of life in the 21st century mean that it is vital that a good start is made by children.

Ajay MARU
Ajay, a Kenton resident with his business also in Kenton West, is married with two
children at local schools.

He has been actively involved in voluntary community activities helping people

with the issues concerning local facilities, social and cultural events, training and
economic issues related to business promotion.

If elected Ajay is keen to see how Council can help small businesses to develop,
promote the regeneration of local shopping areas, improve and extend youth
activities, licensing and planning issues. He is keen to be an effective and
dedicated ward councillor to support local residents with their concerns and help to
improve the quality of their lives. Ajay’s hobbies are socialising, networking and
playing cricket.
