All PTW got cancelled.


Take Clearance for light up the unit from all the XENS Mtc. XEN Chemical/DM Plant & XEN CHP.
Ensure dozing of ammonia, hydrazine by DM Plant
Check the sufficient storage of DM Water & CT-4bay level, PT level, pond level, raw water pump and miscellanies
Pumps take in service DM feed pump, ensure dozing in clarifier.
5. ACW :- Inlet/outlet valve should in opened condition do venting check lubricating oil level, cooing line must be
opened and motorized valve are in closed position must be opened on auto after start ACW. Drain of debrifilters
must be closed.
6. Take ACW in service for cooling of vacume pump DMCW ( CCW) ash handling system and compressors
7. Take Compressor in service.
8. Take DM cycle make up pump in service for filling up the CCW expansion Tank & condenser.
9. DMCW/CCW: - First start ACW charge PHE do venting opened recirculation valve drain opened (Near ID-FD AND BFP)
start DMCW/CCW.
10. Filled the DM water in CCW expansion tank (1300mm) with DM cycle make up pump.
11. Take DMCW (CCW) in service for cooling of PA, ID and FD fans Coal mills BFP, CEP, EH Oil, Seal Oil system, H2
Cooler, Stator water cooler, Excite Cooler etc.
12. Low back heater drain 8nos (24Mtr) closed and remain closed during running of unit, motorized valve operate from DCS.
13. Economizer drain-2 Nos. (12 mtrs) closed and remain closed during running of unit, manual valve.
14. Down comer drain 8nos (0Mtr) closed and remain closed during running of unit, manual valve.
15. Mall drain isolation valve closed after synchronization of unit and opened during as unit tripped and remain
opened during shutdown.
16. All drains, IBD, CBD, down comer, and EBD closed.
17. Take DM filled pump in service
18. DM water filled in drum (-50), dearator (900 to 1000) with DM feed pump and condenser(600 to 700), CCW expansion
tank (1300mm) with DM cycle make up pump.
19. Sample of DM water cheeked from drum, Dearator & Condenser by the DM Plant and ensure dozing.
20. Sufficient level of LDO/HFO in storage tanks ensured.
21. Start BOP, JOP-AC with Exhaust fan of MOT.
22. Turbine put on barring Gear.
23. All LDO/HFO guns checked & make ready for operation
24. Check the sufficient water level of bottom ash hopper & seal trough.
25. Lub Oil level & pump checked of FD fans, APH, PA fans, Coal mills and BFP.
26. Lub Oil pump (LOP) takes in service of FD, APH, PA fan, coal mills and BFP.
27. APH take in service. (Charge oil cooling water line and sufficient oil level in tank and lubricating oil system).
28. Scanner fan take in service.
29. ID fan take in service and check the oil level in tank must be ok and charge the oil cooling line.
30. FD fan take in service and check the oil level in tank must be ok and charge the oil cooling line.
31. CW pump take in service all valve inlet/out should be in opened condition venting should be done before oil level must
be ok. Motorized valve should be closed and may be opened on auto after start of CW and also insure opening of
Condenser in let valve and out let valve and check line up to cooling tower.
32. CEP take in service. (Charge oil cooling water line do venting and then start CEP & check the oil level).
33. Tripping of drum level low got by passed.
34. Purging of furnace with ID& FD fans
35. LDO Pump taken in service.
36. Purging of LDO gun with air.
37. After starting the ID, FD Fans, Scanner Fan, APH and other required Auxiliary for light up the boiler, purge the
furnace ( for 300 second) and skip the leak test, reset the HOFT and LOFT for light up the Boiler.
38. Light up the Boiler with LDO/HFO gun & built the pressure & Temp. and charge the PRDS self charge for heating
of HFO (in line & tank) or charge PRDS from unit-II for heating HFO in line & tank if unit II is running.
39. HFO Pump taken in service in circulation & heater for heating of HFO oil and raise the HFO temperature 90 to 120
0
c and raise the HFO pressure 9 Kg to 14 Kg as per requirement for taking the HFO guns in service.
40. Purging of HFO guns with steam
41. HFO Gun take in service to raise the main steam temperature and pressure
42. Opened the turbine body drain, main stream drain HRH, CRH, turbine casing drain & Governing valve drain.
43. Start SOP-AC (both sides) with demist fan/Ext fan.
44. Start filling of CO2 PURITY 99% THAN START FILLING OF H2 upto 99% purity and Co2 purge out.
45. Take BFP in service and (charge sealing water cooling line & oil cooler do the venting and motor winding cooler)
46. Drum vent closed at 2 Kg (66 mtrs), motorized Valve operate from DCS
47. Super heater vent closed at 2 Kg (66 mtrs), manual Valve
48. Re-heater vent closed at 2 Kg (66 mtrs), manual Valve
49. Economizer vent closed at 2 Kg to 5 Kg (66 mtrs), manual Valve
50. Start up vent closed at 7 Kg (66 mtrs), motorized Valve operate from DCS
51. Super heater drains 8 Nos. (12 mtrs) closed and remain closed during running of unit, manual valve.
52. Mall drain isolation valve closed after synchronization of unit and opened during as unit tripped and remain
Opened during shutdown.
53. Gland sealing line charge at 20 kg and -0.2kg vacuum.
54. Ensure EH oil Pump, HP-LP hydraulic station are service, start seal oil backup pump.

LOP of PA fans start


Mill seal air fan start (Seal air fan)
P.A. fans take in service with lubricant oil pump charge oil cooling water line and sufficient oil level in tank.
Check the DP of BFP, FD,PA regularly in shift .
Charge main stream line by opening pressure equalizing valve after that opened main valve of MS line at 25/30 Kg
pressure and Temp 240/250 oC.

60. Start the LP by pass charged with 10% and opened upto 100% at a temp. 270 0 C & pressure 35/40 kg.
61. Start the HP by pass charged with 3% and opened upto 28% or 30% at a temp 270 0 C & pressure 35/40 kg. (Charge LP/
HP by pass line M.S. temp. raise upto 3600 C and M.S Pressure 45 to 60 kg).
62. Charge exciter cooler and stater water cooling system and check stater water cooling pump and pressure
maintain 4 Kg.
63. HP/LP fast opening got by passed.
64. Closed HP by pass than LP by pass.
65. Relay reset in generator panel and message deliver to switch yard fore set the relay and remove all earth switches along
the feeder.
66. Latch the turbine.
67. Check the lub oil temp. raise up to 400C charge the cooler and maintain the H2 pressure raise the speed up 600 RPM
68. Start rolling immediately after latching raise the speed 2040 rpm for soaking at 310/320/360 0 C Temp. and 1st
stage metal temp raise upto 240/250.
69. Charge Hydrogen cooler partially and charge fully after synchronization and checked all concern auxiliary of
turbine are in service.
70. Message delivered to Switch Yard for reset the relay of generator and remove all earth switches along this feeder.
71. Message delivered to SLDC & PC office Chandigarh.
72. Synchronies the machine at 1st stage metal temp. 2400 C/2500C and man steam temp.3500 C 2 M.S. press (50Kg. to
70Kg).
73. Maintain drum level -150mm block load should be 15 MW if it comes more than 15 MW reduce immediately to 15MW to
maintain drum level.
74. Maintained the condenser level & dearator level & Drum Level.
75. LLD operate every day.
76. UAT charge at 40/50mw load and charge LP Heater No. 3 and 4 at 60 to 80 MW and Derator ext-5 packing at 80 MW and
charge HP Heater No. 6,7,8 at 100 MW.
IN HOT CONDITION
Start ID, FD Fans and ensure running of scanner fan and APH, do purging of furnace for 300 second and skip the leak
test, reset the HOFT and LOFT. Ensue cooling system of all required/running auxiliary are in service i.e Exciter cooling,
stator water cooling , Hydrogen cooling etc. Start all the required auxiliary for light up the unit. Charge the PRDS from unit
II. If unit-II is running HFO Pump take in service and start oil heating and raise the fuel oil temp. 90 0 C to 1200C and HFO
pressure 9 kg to 14 Kg as per requirement and HFO gun takes in service, start Vacuum pump for vacuum Pulling. Charge
the main steam line with opening the equalizing valve for rising pressure and temp. and partially charge the LP/HP by pass
line to raise the temp & Pressure and raise pressure up to 60 kg. to 80 kg. and Temp +300 C from I.P. Blade ring temp than
latch the machine and start rolling and synchronize the machine with maintain the Drum level -150/200 and block load should
be 15 mw if it comes more 15 mw than reduce up to 15mw immediately. Take Seal Air Fan, Coal mills. BFP, CEP etc and other
auxiliary as per requirement with increasing of load maximum upto 300MW. Charge UAT at 40 to 50MW, LP Heater 3 & 4 at
60 to 80MW, derator packing (Ext-5) at 80 MW and HP Heater 6, 7 & 8 at 100MW.
For Filling of Drum
1. Low points all drain closed.
2. Stop valve and stop valve by pass line closed
3. Spray valve closed and drain line of by pass valve opened.
4. EBD & CBD closed.
5. Air vent opened.
Grid failure:
1. Seal system isolate gland immediately.
Very very Important
2. Open vacume breaker immediately to save the diaphrame.
3. LP, HP by pass closes immediately and spray control
4. Valves to be close.
5. DC scanner fan start.
6. Air motor of APH start if not starts than rotate it by hand-Crank.
7. Start emergency oil pump DC.
8. Start DC SOP for H2 & air side & start JOP at 600 rpm.
9. Open vacume breaker valve to avoid puncturing immediately of LP diaphrame manually.
10. Closing turbine gland sealing valves.
11. Engage barring gear at 0 rpm
12. DG set to be taken in service immediately than start AOP (AC) & stop EOP DC.
13. Stop JOP DC & start JOP AC.
14. Start SOPS AC & stop SOPS DC.
15. Start APH (AC) & stop Air motor.
16. stop scanner fan DC & start scanner fan AC on normalization of grid
On Normalization of Grid
1. Check station supply on station incomer.
2. Close 6.6KV station incomer & Unit bus.
3. Close LT station PMCC incomer-I & II.

4. Close LT unit PMCC incomer-I & II.


5. Ensure availability of LT voltage on emergency PMCC incomer-I & II.
