Stages of the lesson activities:
Starting the lesson (1)
The teacher greets the students and asks them if anybody is missing.
I. Formulation of the subject (2)
The teacher tells the students that today they are going to do speaking, reading and writing
activities related to clothes and explains the main headlines of the lesson.
II. Communication of knowledge (15)
The teacher gives the students a worksheet containing speaking, reading and writing activities
related to clothes.
Pre-reading (5) speaking activity
The students have to answer some questions related to clothes.

While-reading (10)
After they have finished answering the questions the teacher asks them to read the text What
do your clothes say about you and while reading they have to match the paragraphs with the
headings.
III. Fixation of knowledge (30)
After-reading
Activity 1 (8) vocabulary activity
The students have to match some words in the text with their definition.
Activity 2 (5) reading activity
The students have to read the text again and to decide if some given statements are true or false.
Activity 3 (15)- writing activity
The students have to read a text about a favorite item of clothing and try to describe it using the
helping questions. After they have finished writing their text the teacher asks them to read what
they have written.
IV. Setting homework (1)
As homework the students have to describe another item that they like.
V. Ending the lesson (1)
The teacher appreciates the students performance by encouraging, praising and giving them
marks.

Read this paragraph about a favorite item of clothing:
My favorite item of clothing is a pair of boots. They are light brown casual boots. They are a bit
dirty and worn but I really like them. I bought them from Feet, a shoe shop in Richmond near
London. I bought them last year and I paid 100 - a lot of money. I like them because they are
very comfortable and are still quite fashionable.
Now write a similar paragraph about your favorite item of clothing. Include this information:

How much did you pay?
Why do you like it?
