Bake for Hope Hosts 2nd Annual Bake Sale May 2-8, 2010

Nationwide grassroots bake sale raises funds for Susan G.

Komen for the Cure

Bake for Hope is preparing for its second nationwide, volunteer-run bake sale
event, which will take place May 2-8, 2010. Fourteen bake sales have been
finalized in the metro Phoenix area and more than 100 local volunteers are
participating.

In its inaugural year, hundreds of volunteers baked and sold sweet treats at
almost 70 bake sales across the country, generating nearly $30,000 for local
Susan G. Komen for the Cure affiliate offices. In 2009, approximately $3,000
was raised in Arizona alone. This year, the number of bake sales has nearly
doubled, with bake sales planned across 33 states. All proceeds raised in
Arizona will be donated to the Phoenix affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the
Cure.

Special thanks to Naturally Nora, King Arthur Flour, Wholesome Sweeteners,

Bob’s Red Mill, Green & Black’s Organic Chocolate, Party City, Tracy
Dempsey Originals, Sugar Buzz Cakes, Sweet Art Bakery, Breadcrafters Café,
Mimi’s Café, Marie Callender’s, Old Heidelberg Bakery, Panda Express and
Sprouts Farmers Market for their in-kind product donations.

Several Valley businesses are also participating by contributing proceeds

from the sale of specific items during the week. Those businesses include
Chocolate Star Bakery, Orange Tree/Orange Leaf Frozen Yogurt, Panda
Express, Skeptical Chymist, Sweet Republic, Udder Delights, Urban Tea Loft
and Yogurtology (see info below).
