Enclosure leakage current must not exceed 0.1mA in normal condition

Leakage Current

What is the Patient Care Vicinity?

The space within a patient care room intended for examination and treatment of
patients that:
Extends 6 feet beyond the normal location of the patient bed, chair, table or other
device that supports the patient
Extends 7.5 feet vertically above the floor from the patient bed, chair, table or other
device that supports the patient

Why does the patient care vicinity exist as a defined space?

Electrical equipment that is directly or indirectly connected to a patient poses the
greatest risk for electrical shock, and therefore more stringent protection
requirements would be necessary
These strict requirements are unnecessarily restrictive in lower risk areas
